No! Not Nick! I really liked his development this season and he has huge upside. Fits really well at the 3.

in Hulls leads South one step closer to perfect regular season on Inside the Hall
I caught the highlights from peegs and listened to the game and I'm more excited about Jordan Hulls than I was about EJ two years ago. That might have something to do with the situation that the team is in this year, but this guy can straight up play ball. I'm glad that CTC is recruiting winners and I think an offer to Davis should come shortly. I predict that in five years Hulls could very well be in the coversation for favorite hoosier of all time. I don't care how unorthadox his shot may be I like that cutter.

Indy Hoosier, you very well could see an offer to Darwin Davis and Spencer Turner, I read awhile back IU is looking at them both....which would be awesome

It is nice to see that we are three days away from the tournament and all people can talk about is next year's coach.I understand that we drew a shitty seed, but does that mean that this season is already written off? If this team does make some kind of a run, I hope that all of you stay off of the band wagon, and continue your fantasy administrator league. If nothing else D.J. personally commands my full attention. I would like wish the CURRENT team luck in their upcoming endeavors. GO HOOSIERS!

I think you are stating the obvious here bro, of course we all want to see our beloved hoosiers advance and will all route like hell to make that happen. In my opinion though we are all looking to move on to a new coach as quickly as possible. Lets be honest, the head coach is the most important piece of the puzzle when it comes to college basketball and at this present moment we don't have one.
Steve
We are talking about next year's coach in this thread because that is what the post is about. The point is there is still three days to kill and the news right now is the fact that a search team has been created. Feel free to provide us with your Arkansas scouting report and we can all react to that as well.

in An Eight seed? Are you serious? on Inside the Hall
You've now been corrected twice on Purdue finishing lower than IU. Do you even pay attention to IU basketball or are you just a cereal blogger. We clearly got screwed on this bid not only a 8 seed, but the worst 8 seed in the bracket? I am speachless!

in Devink Ebanks’ high school career now over; Memphis talk picks up steam on Inside the Hall
Very good points, but that is a real stretch. I love your optimism, and being a hard core hoosier fan I carrry that attitude myself. Hopefully, the next coach has a S on his chest and can come in and save the day. We also do not know who is going to jump ship, mainly, Bassett. I just pray that Dak can hold it together this year long enough for us to make a good run.

Another comment for those of you who insist on an "Indiana guy" for the next coach. Robert Montgomery (Bob or Bobby) Knight (born October 25, 1940, in Massillon, Ohio). Began his coaching career at the United States Military Academy. I may be blind, but I do not see the word Indiana in either of those sentences. The point is quit looking at the past, and look to the future. I, honestly, could care less if the next coach grew up shooting at a termite infested backboard tacked up on the side of a southern Indiana barn wearing cream and crimson stripped shorts. If the next coach can read x's and o's, and hit the recruiting circuit hard, then I do not care where he is from, or what ties he has. A few words for those of you whining about an "Indiana guy". Quit eating up my social security, because I won't be able to retire until I'm 70, and accept the fact that college basketball has changed. Kids do not care (in most cases) about the name on the front of the jersey. Granted our rich tradition helps with recruiting, but it isn't everything. I want an offense that is constently moving, and a defense that is suffocating (whether it be zone or man). Whomever it is that can bring that to Indiana University I do not care. Take your blinders off and smell the coffee. It is time to wake up. We need more recruits like D.J., recruits that have heart. Any coach that can consistently bring that to B-town I am content with. Next year will be a new chapter in IU basketball, hopefully, it is a chapter that brings more NCAA championships. FYI if anyone wants to see purdue get beat again they have a replay on ESPNU. It kinda makes me smile!

With or without him next year is going to be a rebuilding year. He will be a one and done just like Gordon. There is something to build on with Roth and Pritchard for the next coach. Get use to the fact that next year we will be in the middle of the big ten while purdue is at the top. This is the price we are paying for gambling on a hire like sampson. This guy will not hang another banner in Assembly Hall. Smart recruiting (hint: matt painter) will hang more banners. This makes my main concern our next coach, not an immature high school senior who has tunnel vision straight to the NBA. Teamwork and smart basketball wins at the college level, not 6'9" wingmen (Kevin Durant). It would be nice to see him next year in Bloomington, but not the end of the world if he doesn't. Go hoosiers!

I agree and disagree.
Take the story of Carmelo Anthony. I really think he was a "one-and-done" guy who did it the right way. They played great team ball. Hakim Warrick was a stud. Gerry McNamara showed what he was going to be able to do for a few more years. Kueth Duany, the B-Town boy did the little things.
Some say Carmelo hung that banner...and we all know the kind of immaturity he had (just google "Stop Snitchin' if you don't believe). But, it was great teamwork that really did it.
Success comes when you take a superstar with tunnel vision, distract him into playing team ball, and surround him with guys who do one or two things REALLY well. Takes a great coach to do that.
We could have that type of situation next year. Think about it. Bassett could fill that McNamara role. We don't have a shotblocker like Warrick, but 'Cuse really didn't have a playmaker like The Undisciplined One. Ellis is a favorite to fill the Duany role. Would love to see Roth come in and shoot the lights out in spots. All we need is that one "it" guy, and a coach to put it all together.
Unfortunately, those two things are the toughest things in college ball to find.

I know this is off topic but since Sampson is gone and EJ will likely be gone after this season, does this mean that the fierce rivarly with Illinois is gone?

With the increase of quality coaches in the Big-10, I think all teams are going to be special rivalries, particularly when you have to play them on their floor. I see Minnesota, Michigan, Iowa, and yes, even Ilinois having comebacks that will make for conference parity to an even larger extent than exists now. Plus, IU will always be a target!

I would give my left nut to suit up in the cream and crimson. I'll go to b-town and play. When is practice? The players owe it to themselves and their fans to play, especially in this situation where the coach has lied and cheated repeatedly. Wins are very important to me, but not important enough to jeapardize the integrity of IU basketball. When these players look at the big picture and think they would not regret playing 20 years down the road, they are terribly mistaken. This problem needs to be resolved and I can only hope that we can bring in a coach that can salvage this program.

The star is reporting that the boycott is essentially on d.j.'s shoulders. He did not deny a boycott but rather said that it could or could not happen. Hopefully the 4 oclock presser will bring some light on all of these different stories. I dont know if i am the only one but i am tired of hering from all of these "sources" and i would like to hear some truth. No matter what GO HOOSIERS!

If they tank this game against Northwestern, cancel the season, revoke their scholarships, and get some kids from the HPER that would die to put on that uniform for one game. If we lose out on a chance to win the BIG 10 title because they are trying to prove a point, I will have a hard time rooting for any of them again.

He should not be allowed to touch the ball offensively unless it's a rebound.
