Dead wrong. A civil war? Goodness sake, I fell off my chair! And let me just point out for history's sake, you got details on the Great Leap Forward very wrong.

Good story-telling, no substance.

If you want people to take your blog seriously, you should do your research, check facts and write carefully. Lastly, I would losoe the name – Tyler Durden? Do you really think any educated person would take financial advice from er... Tyler Durden? Well, unless you believe yourself to be a unique snowflake.

I lived and studied in Canada for 15 years before I moved back to Hong Kong and started my business 10 years ago. I now have businesses in many cities of China so I should know what I'm talking about. And you, Mr. Durden?

Re: How To Ensure Your Startup Will Fail

Maggy, I totally agree. The combination factor is such a key, siting iPod/iTunes as a classic example.

The eqivalent of that in the network utility world would be, oh say... a friendster with microblogging capability reaching into every smartphone, portable gaming device, iPod Touch and Starbucks.

I'm currently in Hong Kong working on something like this for the Greater China market, huge opportunities over here.
