in How to Find A Sh*t-Ton of Info Product Ideas on Finance Your Freedom
Hi Mike. There are tons of things you could do, but a proper explanation won't fit in a blog comment :-). Maybe I'll make your comment the subject of a future post. Thanks so much for the question.

As sketchy as it might sound, whether something is or is not a magic bullet is really just in the eyes of the customers. If they think it is a magic bullet, then it is.

The thing is, most people have magic bullets to offer, then just don't know how to recognize them when they see them.

If you give specific instructions that, without fail, product a very specific result (usually within a short period of time), then you have a magic bullet.

It's all about the "done-for-you" aspect of it all.

Hm... so are you admitting to being "really messy and unorganized."

Interesting post. I sometimes feel that my thoughts are dragging me around by the hair. It's a nice feeling, but I think it militates against organization.

Here's to getting our sh*t together :-)

Congrats. I like the new cover, also. European money is much more beautiful than U.S. money, so it would make sense that their book covers would be also. Go figure.

in Interview with Gina Trapani, Founder of Lifehacker - Morning Routine, Little Hacks with Big Results, and More… on The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss
“Do you have a routine — or simple productivity hacks — that have stood the test of time for you?”
-------------------------
I believe that I’m looking for depth. The most enduring “hacks,” aren’t hacks at all, they’re new ways of re-framing the world that reorganize my perception of life. The best hacks are fresh perspectives on life. I used to be on the lookout for another tip that would help things, but at one point I had 15 rss feeds was averaging like 200 tips per day and it led to tip overload.

One of the best “hacks” has been the concept of lifestyle design, or the notion that there are myriad ways to structure your existence. That’s really empowering, Tim, so thank you for that. And thank you Gina for the great interview.

in How to Fly Without ID and Skip Lines on The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss
Wow, I didn't even know that was possible. I knew that the airline system was hackable, but I didn't know it was that flexible. I suppose they have to let people through without IDs, otherwise you'd be SOL.

The next time I'm late for a flight I'm going to arrange to have my ID stolen :-)

For another good airline hack, check here for a good a Dumb Little Man article about how to score free airline vouchers by reserving overbooked flights.

Thanks Tim,
Clay

Doin' it Martha Stewart style. I just made this breakfast for dinner and it was great. Can I con you into showing us how to make a slow carb but date-worthy dinner in under 10 minutes?

In the kitchen with Tim yo. I'm down. And I'll have my video uploaded lickity split. Thanks for the great post.

(BTW: click on my name to see Bruce Lee battle it out with David Allen of GTD fame. I only mention this because I think you'll like it, Tim; feel free to delete me, I'm not trying to Spam).

in How to Stop Checking E-mail on the Evenings and Weekends on The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss
Good list. OK, so this might be obvious, but how about this one?: don't open your email during weekends (or better yet, don't turn on the computer).

Another idea, which you've encouraged, it to have so much awesome stuff going down that email is the last thing you're thinking about. That's my favorite :-)

Thanks Tim,
Clay

Hi Clay,

Point #2 is key. If people have to choose between boredom or feeling productive (even if they aren't), they'll choose the latter. Thanks for the comment!

in Dating without Speaking? The Weird World of Eye Gazing Parties on The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss
Beautiful women are (unknowingly) geniuses when it comes to finding the "alpha" guys. One of the ways they have traditionally tested men (again, not on purpose) is by eye-gazing. It's kind of a $hit test... you break eye-contact first and you're out. This works with women because it works with men: in societies with strict pecking orders, the beta males risk their lives when they don't break contact first. It's an interesting phenomenon.
