For sake of not having a Wacom Tablet, I'd do this much the same, and the difference would be going straight from the sketch to vectors.

Some great tips on the vector drawing though.... nice one.

George Coghill Thanks Ross. And yes the Wacom/Photoshop steps can easily be skipped by refining your sketch on paper before scanning into your computer.

We create wireframes in the planning phase of a project. We first do a sitemap and then the wireframes which tie all the pages together in their relative interactions.

As you mention, it's not important to define layout in wireframes, but we tend to present them with ready made elements like form fields, buttons, navigation bars etc.

I find it visually illustrates the component level to the client, and as such opens the communication to more than just words and lists.

More client understanding, less client problems.
