Step 1. GM,Ford, Honda and Toyota all produce 'rolling' cars they normally install internal combustion engines in ready for an electric motor to be installed. These will be OEM cars, so all branding will be removed. Step 2. A different company produces and installs electric motor and batteries. Big automakers don't risk liability of electrics, but their mass-produced shells bring the price down. Electric installers get their cut and take on problems.
