TimeBridge is also available for Gmail calendar. Here's mine http://app.timebridge.com/mytime/markbrooks

Works great. I've not been happy with the TimeBridge scheduling however. I'm sure it would work great with 5+ meeting attendees for people who have longer meetings, especially when travel is required.

I tend to have 2-4 people in my meetings and they're all 30-90 minute telephone calls, and I have a fair number of meetings each week. Timebridge just confuses the hell out of everyone, alas. Simple as it is, there's just too many meeting options on the fly at once. Works better for me to just offer up one meeting window.

Zimbra rocks! I've been using it for a few weeks now and its been solid and speedy. I can use Gmail offline and its a LOT faster than Gmail online.

Gmail has been dogging recently so Zimbra has really helped me speed up my email work. I can't wait 3-7 seconds for a page to load. Zimbra works nicely as a buffer. When gmail is slow, fine, Zimbra picks up the slack and just pushes out the email when Gmail makes its mind up to speed up. Works offline. Works with Yahoo as well. Nice app. I recommend it.

Outlook and Exchange on the other hand...waaay to slow. Sherweb and Intermedia are great Exchange hosts but I'm so done with Outlook now.

The meaning of subscribe has indeed changed over the last couple of years. It has more negative connotations than positive. Its a commitment. Twitter has helped bring a new word/lexicon into existence that is generally comprehended and far more palatable among mainstream social networking users. 'Follow.' No commitments, not credit card required, no misunderstanding. This is very wise on Googles part and should help drive more activity to their blogger.com property.

Linkedin is the clear leader in the business networking 'niche.' Xing is the leader in Europe. I just started a social network just for internet dating affiliates on the Ning platform. Ultimately, I think we'll see a lot of niches emerge in the business networking space. Linkedin just amped up its group offerings, at last. It would be great if they went one step further and allowed more custom/white label SNS environments. There are countless business niches that could be served by Linkedin. I went with Ning because they have a good white label offering, and they have the most members of any white labeler social networking service right now, so hopefully the people I invite will already have a profile on Ning.

The integrity of connections on the likes of Friendster, Facebook, and Linkedin and many other SNS tend to be of a higher order than on MySpace. MySpace was always more about discovery than reality.

Politicians are acting as an inspiration to the corporate world, when it comes to social media.

In the corporate world, executives have been wary of social media because...people sometimes say nasty things. The one surefire way for corporations to amplify those conversations is to join them. So they, more often than not, bury their heads in the sand. They're quite scared of social media, still.

Politicians on the other hand know that negativity comes with the territory. They are more inclined to take it on the chin and respond. So, it seems the top politicians have been a little more accepting ot social media and are a step ahead of the corporate world.

Once the dust settles after the election, I think the corporate will be more likely to embrace social media.

in Google calendar - nice but no can do | A View from Judi Sohn on A View from Judi Sohn
I've actually moved away from Outlook completely. I've used ACT, Outlook, Goldmine at length in the past and I'm done with them all. Tired of my computer crashing and slooooow search. I've moved to Gmail for email, Google calendar, and switched tasks to tadalist.com. I'm online enough these days that I can do this. For sending larger email sends I use Listbuilder.com. I'm pretty much covered. I expect Google to continuously improve their apps. Yahoo mail has been great in the past but the Gmail mail by conversations format blows it away. I can look up a contact in Gmail and lo and behold I can see all my prior conversations with that person. The Google calendar quick add feature rocks. It's surprising such seemingly small and obvious features can knock Yahoo mail, and Outlook on the head. I'm converted. I daren't use synch on my Nokia 9500. I'd rather wait for the mobile version. m.gmail is lightning fast btw. Very nice.
