Seattle's anti-LRT crusader Emory Bundy writes for Crosscut. Read Bundy's bizarre screed in Crosscut warning that LRT would make global warming worse.

Bundy is with Citizens for Effective Transportation (CETA) which opposes LRT but pretends to be "pro-transit".

If Brodkorb suspected Hal Kimball was out of town, why didn't he mention that to King Banian when the professor launched into his rant?

I think Brodkorb and King Banian's show torpedoed the GOP talking points on affirmative action.

Like Gonzogate, all that "meritocracy-pull yourself up by your bootsraps,-playing by the rules on a level playing field" stuff apparently doesn't apply to loyal Bushies and Bachmannites.

Newly released campaign finance documents have revealed the Luzerne County Green Party in Pennsylvania has been receiving money from a most unlikely source-prominent Republicans. We speak with the reporter who helped break the story. [includes rush transcript]

We turn now to Pennsylvania where newly released campaign finance documents have revealed the Luzerne County Green Party has been receiving money from a most unlikely source-the founder and owner of the mercenary company Blackwater USA. Federal Election Commission filings show that Erik Prince and his wife donated $10,000 to the Luzerne County Green Party.

Other prominent Republicans who donated included a Halliburton lobbyist, a former aide of Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist and California's leading anti-choice activist. The Republicans were trying to help get the Green Party's Senate candidate Carl Romanelli on the ballot in an attempt to take away votes from Democrat Bob Casey in his race against Republican Senator Rick Santorum.

Farheen Hakeem Signed Letter in Support of a Corrupt City Official Nearly a year ago, Farheen Hakeem signed a letter of support for Dean Zimmermann that said the following:

"We are convinced that Dean is innocent of the crime of bribery"

"we stand in support of an honest man"

"We miss Dean's leadership on the Minneapolis City

Council."

"Dean Zimmermann is a political prisoner"

I live in 61B, so I wrote too Farheen Hakeem yesterday and asked her if she still stood by those statements.

No response yet... maybe the Minnesota Monitor could ask her.

Zimmermann lost his appeal last month. The 8th Circuit Court unanimously upheld the jury's verdict.

The Morgantown PRT is an expensive flop. I have collected stories about how students and faculty hate the Morgantown PRT because it is so unreliable and it fries squirrels.

Recently, the new Mayor of Kansas City had this to say about the Morgantown PRT:

Mark Funkhouser used to ride West Virginia University's Personal Rapid Transit system, which he recalled "was broken down half the time."

Now he'll help develop a light rail system for Kansas City, Mo., population 450,000.

...Funkhouser was also quoted saying the WVU PRT "wasn't really mass transit".

Personal Rapid Transit is an infeasible concept with a long, controversial history.
