in Why Rob Diana is right: Twitter gets the hype while Facebook will get the gold on ScobleizerMaybe different tools have different use.
Even though it took me a while before I decided to join Twitter (@theconcierge), I think being limited to 140 characters is a plus.
Twitter is a good way for me to get a digest of what people on my radar are doing or talking about that day.
David Weinberger's piece 4,5 Things that Twitter teaches us http://bitly.com/11sFmp raises some good points...
Facebook can be very trivial (someone's latest drinking expedition and the like).
It did allow me to catch up with long lost friends and far away family members though.
Anyway all of these tools are an ever evolving animal so God knows how we will use them 6 months from now.

Julius of Amiando shared some of his feedback . I will be hosting a session on Wednesday, September 17 (at 7:00 pm) on the topic during Web 2.O Expo New York.
I would very much appreciate your take from your corner of the world

Keep your head up
As long as you gave it your best, nothing to feel bad about.
Your musings get me back to my 'consumed to thrifty' thoughts as related to time/work rather than money
My best moments lately have been idle ones or should I say trips to museums.
They broadened up my perspective
Wish I could join you in Leeds which I never visited.

in About Visibility on Climb to the StarsHi Stephanie
Is it like being successful on Wall Street.
There will always be someone more 'successful' (or should I say more prominent) than many of us at any time.
Is it worth obsessing about?
On a closing note, I offered a panel for South by Southwest 2009 titled 'From Consumed to Thrifty: Strategies for a Good Life in Hard Times'...
Looking forward to see you whenever the occasion arrises.

in Thank you Guy Kawasaki on ScobleizerWhen did the whole thing turn into an ego trip?
Is it the equivalent of the elite lounge at the airport?
Maybe we are in the danger zone when we start to believe our own hype and listen to ourselves talking rather than others.
Someone that I met at South by Southwest whose head is not inflated but seems rather genuinely friendly: Gary of Winelibrary.tv
Thanks Gary for that

in 2005 Meritxell Palleja Nita on CatavinoI am looking forward to participating in Wine Blogging Wednesday #38 on Portuguese Wines.
I will mention the Event and your Blog on Serge the Concierge later today.
I must say that until recently I had not paid much attention to wines from Portugal.
I started to remedy to that.

I would like your feedback (and maybe your vote) on my 'Just over 50 and not Dead yet' Panel Idea for 'South by Southwest 2008'.
Outline is: "Online Participation is not just about 20 Somethings. A bunch of people
Just Over 50 have planted their tent online either as actors or consumers.
They buy books, music, watch movies, travel and eat out, have money and
brains."
Let me know what you think of the theme

in Today’s book: the 4-Hour Workweek on ScobleizerI find his approach of less-better work healthy.
I am reading his book right now (publisher copy that he sent me to be honest).
The title like any book title should not be taken literally.
I think the direction is what matters.
Regarding 'outsourcing' it is not always for low paid labor.
I consider myself (a concierge)as helping people outsource some of their tasks.
A new service that I wrote about today on 'Serge the Concierge' named 'LaborFair' also proves that you can have other people perform tasks for you and be paid fairly.
My 2 cents.

in Do A-list bloggers have a responsibility to link to others? on ScobleizerThe linking takes place in the posts as well.
At least this is the way I mostly do it and crediting my sources.
In any case, whatever the size of your audience,it takes time to build it.
My main blog 'Serge the Concierge' will turn 2 in March but it has been really picking up momentum in the past 6 months.
I think you have to be patient and recognize the fact that after writing frequently for many months, you offer your audience more to chew on.
I will actually start a new blog soon on the topics of Food, Wine and Travel as experienced the world over by local people as opposed to tourists and magazine writers.
A number of people will contribute their posts, I will mix it up and serve it.
Take care

in Meeting people at Inc. 500 on ScobleizerI don't think that it is just companies that neglect 'boomers'.
I think networking sites that say they want to cater to 'boomers' can be condescending.
I wrote about it on 'Serge the Concierge' a while back in a comment on 'Eons'.
I followed up on the topic after hearing The Buzzcocks being used by the AARP for a commercial.
After all Lou Reed is like 64.
The summer of love was some 40 years ago and punk started some 30 years back.
From these 2 movements though game creative people and ideas and a DIY attitude.
Take care
