in A Compelling Pitch For My Attention on AttentionMax
Max, this is a great post. As a PR guy myself, I've adopted a fairly simple rule when reaching out to bloggers: Ask them first if they are interested in getting a "pitch." Of course there's enough info in my introductory e-mail for them to make an informed decision, but it's a couple of sentences at most.
If they say yes, send them the info. If they say no, move on.
Why people send unsolicited mail (even the "not blowing smoke up your rear" un-pitch) to people they don't know and assume it won't be received as spam is beyond me.

There is embedding on the new Daily Show site. Of course, I couldn't get it to work on my site due to ongoing video challenges with my template, so I'm still waiting to see if someone can get it to work.
I agree the YouTube suit will limit the possibility of spreading their content and their advertisers' messages, but the site in general is pretty cool. Compare it to Comedy Network's here in Canada.
I blogged about this as well: http://www.prworks.ca/index.php/daily-show-givi...

What an amazing exchange. You've done a great job of capturing the drama. Any discussion of blogging journalists like say, er, you?

in Alanis as Weird Al? on Medium & the Message
As usual, Alanis has a point...but likes to deliver it with as many words as possible.
It's a good bit, but 2 minutes would've done.

Julie doesn't do her self justice with that blog post. The only way to experience Julie is in person.
But people should absolutely do research and get in the door with something to say. Ask for help with a resume. Ask for some other contacts. Ask about recent campaigns. Go in with lots of insightful questions, but already know some of the answers.
By the way, what Italian drinks tea? Let alone Chamomile?

I'm sadly mistaken? You're sadly mistaken! This whole damn blogosphere is sadly mistaken!
If Al Pacino had a blog, that's what he would leave in the comments.

My worry is that all the buzz built around this will lead to other marketers jumping on the "let's seed youTube," bandwagon with a bunch of stealth marketing.
This is a great clip...raw, like a train wreck. I hope it would've worked just as well if Sunsilk took some credit at the end in some way. I don't think we've heard the whole story on this yet. There aren't too many consumer products companies who'd tie themselves to something like this that featured so much profanity.
You hit the nail on the head with "sneaky." That sums it up best.

Great post. I totally agree with Collin. Reviewing business cards after a networking event is hilarious.
It was great to meet you and my biographer at TTT. See you next time.
P.S. Your blog design rocks.

Check out talk digger. They make some attempt at identifying the country of origin, but there are some other neat features too.

MediaNetcentral for media database. MediaMap is pretty good to, but we've just switched from it to MediaNetCentral. Infomart for clippings...they've added the Globe, TV and blogs, though I can't say how complete the TV and blog coverage is as yet. I've been poking around CustomScoop recently as well, but the jury's still out.

Great post. I'm a big believer in mission statements both for executive focus and employee engagement. When you have a touchstone like that to review regularly and ask yourself if you're being true to the mission, I have to believe you'll make better decisions on where to put your energies.

I heard Mark Evans talk about this at the AIMS seminar earlier this week. I'm looking forward to it.
