Can we assume the iPhone launch plan will be mishandled, miscommunicated, and misunderstood in a similar fashion? This is a joke.

Re: Data pricing from Rogers actually gets worse

This is unbelievable. Just when you think Rogers couldn't sink any lower.

Are they doing this to to make the upcoming and likely overpriced iPhone plan look good in comparison?

I can see it now: "instead of paying $100 for 1GB, you can pay $65 per 1GB with our 5 year iPhone contract!"

Re: Telus and Bell to go GSM in 2010

Great news all around! Too bad I've already been Rogered 'til 2011. :P

Re: Rogers limited $30 for 6GB actually a pretty good deal

After I found out that AT&T capped their "unlimited" data plan at 5GB, I came to the same conclusion that the Rogers $30/60GB deal is actually pretty decent.

I don't actually see myself using 6GB in a month but I like the "never have to worry" feeling of whipping out the iPhone whenever/whereever and using the 3G data.

There's no way Rogers will bring out a better deal. They will likely remove the promotion at the end of August and maybe re-introduce something similar for the Christmas rush.

Re: March of the iFauxns - Bell and Telus strike back

I did a brief writeup of these two phones on my blog recently. Basically, the Instinct is part broken as the JVM is only a subset (why did they do this?!) so it can't run Opera Mini. This is a very bad thing because their default browser is CRAP apparently.

Also, Instinct runs on some proprietary OS so you can't even take advantage of a large app library like Windows Mobile or the App Store.

I'm looking forward to trying out the Touch Diamond. I used to have a Touch prior to the iPhone and I found it a decent mobile web device, but as a phone? Not so hot. The screen was small which made the touch keyboard way more annoying to use.

Re: Rogers HSDPA network slowing down?

Using the Speedtest app for my iPhone 3G, I get 420-442 kbps

And using the inetworktest.com iphone test, i get 391.5 kbps.

This is from downtown Toronto at University & Dundas

Re: Update on mobile broadband, Rogers speeds halved in just 4 months

My experience with the iPhone 3G and Rogers during my trip in Montreal has been frustrating.
- multiple errors and slowdowns, some requiring resets
- slow as crap, speedtest from downtown Montreal reads: 286kbps download and 92kbps upload.

I guess I should be thankful that Toronto isn't as bad.

Re: Where oh where your wireless bill goes

We know where the money isn't going: Their crappy ass website where I've yet to successfully use any of the Member Services features without a system error message.

Re: StartupEmpire is sold out

Congrats!
