As for the buzz, most companies sell products. Apple, on the other hand, sells feelings. No, I'm not crazy, but unfortunately I don't remember where I found the article that explains this. Feelings...digital experiences...even fashion statements, lately they certainly know how to make good products and market them successfully. The fact that they can make people intensely crave something that doesn't even exist yet is pretty amazing.
