There's one thing that just doesn't quite add up with this Plaxo/Scoble scandal. You can't tell me Scoble's account was the first one they ran this script on. This had to have been planned. And I'm sure it worked out just as they both liked. Plaxo probably ran it a few times on a few test accounts, had them banned and hit a brick wall, so where better to turn... I have read for months of people being banned and not really knowing why. Facebook should have stood up to Scoble and Plaxo, seems they had public opinion behind them..

I was looking at the older S50C on Amazon and according to the comments, you can go straight to flickr with it, though it's not that easy to set up. Once it's done, it is deffinately worth it I would think. Check out the product's comments, they have step by step instructions.

I agree, but I'd take it a step further and allow you to tag your friends however you like, then assign your security based on each tag you create. You may have family, work, good friends, neighbors, church, poker buddies etc. See http://bennewton.us/2007/07/16/tag-your-friend-...

I think thoe icons just became a lot more important to the developers.. That will be what catches user's eyes from profie to profile, not the app name.

I look forward to Plaxo's release. It may not take hold right away, but unless Facebook offers the same option soon, more people will look for these options elsewhere.

If some of you haven't watched Loren, he's great. He's probably half serious when he rips Chris. What he says is true, though. If you read Chris, he's all over the place. Chris's laughing seemed one step away from crying.. A little strange, but good exposure for both, so who's really laughing.

I added a flickr photo app today and it took 3 tries. Each time it went a little further in the process. It finally worked even though it stated there was an error. The appps developer blamed Facebook changing something in their app platform this morning. I find that hard to believe, but it may be true. There should b an approval process. Approved Facebbok Apps would be more appealing than installing and removing apps.

Without SMS and an API Pownce is one step behind twitter. I am sure they will add both.

My main surprise is your main feed on Pownce is not loaded and reloaded via ajax. You have to manually refreh the page. No wonder the servers are slow. Send a message or two every few seconds or wait for whole pages to reload. Hmm.

Pownce: Don't be so concerned with page hits. Be concerned with the ease of use of the product and the advertising dollars will come. To me, Pownce seems to be being built to best serve a quantity of ads, not quality to it's users.
