So Ken, please tell us at what time in the last 30 years was the union more able to push through their anti-business agenda of EFCA? Tell us how unions will control 65% of Chrysler and 17.5% of GM after the government driven bankruptcy even though their financial "skin in the game" was minimal and not as status a level compared to the bondholders?
Then tell us again how my statement was "patently false". Don't kid yourself to think that unions have not bought their way into the political kingdom and control of the Democrats.

To begin with the union's "power" is presently at it's lowest ebb in decades so they don't get much credit yet.
And what rock have you been living under Ken? Just listen to BO and this administrator and even what has been spewing out of Andy Stern's mouth since BO was elected... The union's power is stronger today then at any time over the past 30 years. And just wait to see what happens with the EFCA act never makes it through congress. Head will roll in the Democratic party.

Apparently those "MILLIONS of people" don't live in New York, L.A., or Lake Placid.
Ah, but by denying Walmart the ability to build in such areas as NY, LA and Chicago MILLIONS and MILLIONS of consumers ARE DENIED the ability to shop there. But the political and union waters certainly wouldn't want happy citizens if it doesn't meet THEIR needs.

I'd say to the people "who DO want a Walmart" that they are a minority living in a democracy.
That's such a laughable comment. Tell that to the MILLIONS of people that frequent Walmart stores every day... you are a "minority". LMAO!!!!
Liberals have a bad habit of making up rules based on feeling and what they think is best for everyone else reguardless of what the people want

Yeah, let's cram Wal-Mart down the throats of communities that don't want them so the only choice they have is Wal-Mart's cheap Chinese inventory.
And what do you say to the people who DO want a Walmart in their area? Just suck it up because your individual choices make no difference to us?

Well then by god Jane please tell these employees to go buy health insurance!!! And if they can't afford it they need to start looking at where they do spend their discretionary money. And if that doesn't work they should find a job that pays them more money if Walmart does not pay them enough.
With so much talk about how "poor" Walmart treats their employees it should be easy for them to find a BETTER job that pays more money with better benefits. But then again if that logic held true then Walmart would not be able to recruit MILLIONS of associates to work for them. Of course that factual logic goes against the anti-Walmart grain of propaganda doesn't it.

Like the Anti Wal-Mart Movement has put up barricades around the stores and you have to fight your way in.
hm..... Haven't I been reading stories on this site recently about communities NOT letting Walmart build in their area? What about the potential customers denied the ability to able to shop at a local Walmart all due to an anti-Walmart crowd? I certainly would call that a barricade.

So Ken, let's revisit that toilet paper issue again and what Mary said. Please tell us all what is the difference in the Cottenelle toilet paper sold at Walmart vs. a unionzed Safeway store..... sans the price of course because we know that is different. Why would I as a consumer WANT to pay more money FOR THE EXACT SAME PRODUCT?

"Nowadays, I truly prefer shopping at any store, other than a Walmart store."
And that's the way it should be. I can't say I particularly look forward to spending more money shopping at Safeway stores vs. my local Walmart BUT IT'S MY CHOICE. If you don't like Walmart then don't shop there, but sure as heck DON'T TELL ME WHERE I SHOULD AND SHOULD NOT BE SHOPPING. It's my business.

Oh, you're right Ken. Your quote does come from a July, 2007 post. I didn't catch that. But what I did catch was my quote which dates to JUNE 2008
So I guess this also confirms your Remember Mary? Not long after she made a fool of herself by declaring there was no quality difference in toilet paper, she vanished, never to be heard from again. statement to be false as well since she was still posting almost a year later. That's unless your concept of "not long after" is as screwed up as your english comprehension skills and Google search statistics. Nice job Ken! Applause!!!!!

"there is no quality difference in toilet paper"
vs.
"the quality part(y) really don't matter"
And you CAN'T tell the difference between these 2 statements Ken? What substandard education did you receive that you so sorely lack the comprehension skill to understand the english language? My 3rd grader can even explain the difference to me.
The only fool around here and in particular this thread is you Ken. But then again you've also graced these blogs with your Google seach theory which gets laughed at by any one with any semblence of knowledge of how Google searches work.
btw, I'm not sure what you were reading but the references to these past blog entries were in 2008 NOT 2007, June and July to be exact.

Thanks Ken for reinforcing my point that you still lied and to add to it it also indicates your comprension skills are sorely lacking.
So tell me again Ken where her post said "there was no quality difference in toilet paper"? Or if YOU HAD READ what was said it talks about the RELEVANCE of the quality for such things as toilet paper. HUGE HUGE DIFFERENCE and a COMPLETE MISTATEMENT on your part.
And btw Ken, you claim that "Not long after she made a fool of herself by declaring there was no quality difference in toilet paper, she vanished, never to be heard from again." yet I still find posts from her several weeks after the original post in question. So tell us again how "she vanished... not long after"? I don't think the anti-walmart crowd did much to scare her off. She probably came to the same conclusions I am coming to that the anti-walmart crowd let's their bias cloud any logical conclusions so not much is accomplished by having any type of dialogue.
So how are those reseach skills of "old guy" compared to the "newby"?...... my bet still says sorely lacking.

Mary's "same-for-less" posture was an adjustment from her initial "no-quality-difference" blunder.
OK, point me to that post then so I can understand what the discussion was about. Otherwise we'll just stick with "Ken lied" and can't admit when he lied and combine that with "it's every reader's personal responsiblity to determine for themselves what is true and what is false." pretty much leaves major doubts as to the credibility in anything Ken posts here. I'll certainly remember that.

What Ken.... you can't even admit when you posted false information and worse yet portrayed it as fact? It's a pretty sad display but yet a more obvious lack of integrity. I guess the "personal integrity thing" was not taught in your family.

Wow Ken, how blatent a liar can you be? To now make up stories in order to prove your "worthness" really puts your cognative abilities in question.
For the intelligent viewing audience please take a look at this quote and tell me where Ken has profoundly mistated the facts here.
Ken, do you mean the Cottonelle 12pk I bought yesterday at Walmart for $8.73 vs. my local Safeway that was selling THE EXACT SAME THING FOR $10.49. I think I can tell the difference when I CAN PURCHASE THE EXACT SAME THING for $1.76 less.

Pretty dumb move Ken. You keep sinking lower every day in you biased statements in support of your abject hatred for Walmart. But the lies... that takes your arguments to a whole new level.

In this case I abolutely agree with Ken. If you believe you have a legal case against Walmart (or any other merchant for that matter) then by all means SUE THEM! That's why we have a court of law and I would find it hard to believe that you could not find a lawyer to take your case considering the deep pockets of Walmart and the validity with which you claim.

A grocery chain called "Wegmens" was at the top of the list.
Jane have you seen the prices at Wegmans compared to other retailers? It's outrageous. You could probably take my $100 Walmart grocery bill and add easily 20% to it. It even puts unionized Safeway to shame. That 20% add up easily over time and as I said I really don't need anyone from customer service to tell me the difference between Lays and Utz potatoe chips, certainly not for 20% more.
btw, when I made my return of my dryer to Best Buy 2 months ago they made me fill out my full name and address before processing my refund. Does that mean that Best Buy is just as "bad" as Walmart? I also had to several merchandise items to a Walmart store in Orlando in March of this year. I certainly don't remember filling out anything looking for my name and address. So how old is that book?

You warped Right Wing-nuts actually believe those programs were designed to keep people poor? Bwa-ha-ha-ha! Raising the minimum wage also helps keep people poor too, right?
Wow Ken, and I all along I was giving you credit for some intelligence in your posts. If you actually believe programs like this don't indoctrinate, and keep them indoctrinated, into a nanny-state you must sorely lack the necessary skills to understand human nature. You're statement just floored me. With good intentions come unintended consequences and government dependency is the ultimate after-effect of such social programs. RDS is right, if these programs were designed to help people then they wouldn't be living on them year after year AS their life. Your niavety is just breathtaking.
The fact is the corrupt, greedy Investor Class took the economy for more money than all your despised social programs put together.
Would you care to share those $ with us? I've love to see your take on such a deluded statement.

That's a great opinion, RDS, unfortunately the facts don't back it up.
Welfare, food stamps, housing subsidies, earn income tax credits, etc. And the Democrats have NOTHING to do with those policies over the last 60 years? Wow, talk about revisionist theory.

Jane you live in an utter dream world. Point out the facts to you and you shutter in disgust. Let's try a few more FACTS shall we.
1. Has Walmart failed at trying retail ventures? ABSOLUTELY they have, just like every other retailer and every human being alive. Does that mean they "don't know who their customers are"? If your theory holds true then every other retail establishment must not know their customers either because of their failures. But in this case I guess Walmart knows their customers "better" than their competitors because they sell alot more to them.
2. "They want to be everything to everyone, and in the retail business it can't be done." 100% everything to everyone? That's like saying it will be sunny every day of the year. Statistically impossible. So then why do you claim that Walmart wants to be "everything to everyone" when they darn well that will never happen. Walmart picks their targets and markets just like every other retailer. But I love that fact I can walk into Walmart and pick up my groceries, car supplies, garden supplies, household items, etcc. all in one stop. Now that's a competitive advantage!
3. "I will also stand by what I said earlier--those who shop at Wal-Mart CANNOT AFFORD TO SHOP AT HIGHER PRICED STORES. What you told me is that YOU shop at higher priced stores! But apparently you are now speaking for MILLIONS OF OTHER WAL-MART SHOPPERS!!" But I shop at Walmart and I can afford to shop at higher priced stores. Thus Jane, YOUR STATEMENT IS PATENTLY FALSE! I never said I spoke for millions of other Walmart shoppers (but apparently you are by making your statement). I don't speak for anyone but myself. It's just too easy pointing out the idiocy of your statement. Doesn't your hypocracy just kill you sometimes Jane?
If you don't like Walmart then please feel free not to patronize them. I'm sure they won't take it personally... their probably too busy serving the other tens of millions of customers to really even notice you missing.

And by the way college costs big bucks. So does trade and technical schools. Education past high school isn't free! If this type of education were free most Wal-Mart employees would probably sign up for it.i>
Oh, that's a bunch of crap Jane. You could attend a local community college for the first 2 years of your academic career and walk away with an AA degree for less than 4k/year. I should know. I worked my way through 1 year at a community college before transfering to a 4 year state university to complete my BS degree. I then followed it up with an MBA 3 years later. I PAID FOR MY TUITION EVERY STEOP OF THE WAY AS WELL AS MY LIVING EXPENSES < $10/hr jobs through undergraduate education and a $13/hr job right after I got out of undergraduate.
But if you gave away college educations like we do high school educations there would stll be tens of millions of people who won't complete the requesite. And there's a simple answer for that.... THEY DON'T WANT TO DO THE HARD WORK to get it done. I don't care of you work at Walmart or McDonalds, if you want an education it's there for the taking. And if you need financial help their are rows and rows of public and private assistance out there to help you.
