That was definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Thailand...that and hearing that my train from Chiang Mai had "fallen off the tracks" and was canceled.

Never thought I'd be jealous of the weather in Vietnam--it's actually colder in Hanoi than here in Shenzhen.

Macau is one of my favorite getaways (only about two hours from my apartment). Off on one of the side streets through Senado Sq. is a little grocery that has a great selection of coffee that's much cheaper than buying on mainland China.

Sounds like a really cool trip. Hope I make it to Cambodia this winter. I wish I could find more places without tourists on my trips...haven't been that lucky since wandering through Thailand.

Yeah, those are some heavy moon cakes. The one I had was refrigerated with a jam filling--no lotus paste. Supposedly, Haagen Daz makes a great ice cream moon cake if you're willing to spend the money.

Penang is a great place. I can definitely think of worse places to be stuck. I do hope things get sorted out in Thailand soon.

Any idea if there's a difference between sitting Buddha and seated Buddha? I know the seated Buddha in Leshan is the largest in the world and definitely larger than the one in HK.

I would've liked to take the train to Penang. We took the short flight instead. Check out Nyonya Baba Cuisine at Nagore Rd.--best food I had in Malaysia. Also some other nice-looking restaurants next to it.

I stayed in the same area a few weeks ago--just across from Times Square. It's a bit noisy at night...we had to switch to a higher floor after the first night. I enjoyed the few days in KL, but Malacca and Penang were much better locations for me.

That's a very cool looking theater. Much better than the one near me that looks like a spaceship. The most important question is how are the acoustics?

Is this the one on Lantau? I haven't been to that part of HK yet. Maybe I'll take my parents there next month if they're not templed-out after Bangkok.

I like that Peter backed me up on that one. Those bastards in NY have stolen our statue for far too long. Besides, she's showing her back to our state! To hell with it, let NY keep it...just send the money across the state line.

Seeing as I haven't been everywhere in the states, I'll stick to what I know. Personally, I'd put up Garden of the Gods in CO. I'd also go along with the redwoods in CA. If you took NYC as a whole off the list, I might go with McSorley's or possibly Crif Dogs.

Just a side note: The Statue of Liberty is in Jersey, damn it.
