Unfortunately, I've developed a bad case of beer snobbery since I moved to the NW and can't drink any of the newly chic "working man beers" like Olympia or PBR unless I'm already a few pints in. My wallet suffers for it.

Re: missing

Sounds like there may not always be time for beer. ;)

Re: Bumper Sticker Philosophy

I mentioned bumper stickers on my site today, but you beat me to the rant I was planning about them. I'm amazed by how much the bumper sticker population in my neighborhood goes up on Sumdays - "Jesus is my co-pilot" and all that. I read someplace once that Americans are the only self-important culture to list our alma maters on our vehicles, be it Harvard Alumnus or My Child is an Honor Student at Podunk Elementary.

Re: Bumper Sticker Philosophy

I saw the "Dog is my co-pilot" book at Powell's the other day, but haven't seen the sticker recently - I'd check some of the dog enthusiast shops.

Re: holiday

For your Labor Day browsing pleasure: http://www.thislife.org/pages/descriptions/98/88.html

Go to 10:30 in the Real Audio clip to hear the Paint by Numbers story. Later in the story (14:30) they create music according to polling people on what they like. They also create the song that everyone is pretty much guaranteed to hate: bagpipes, children singing, lyrics about holidays and religion, opera stars rapping about cowboys, wild volume and tempo changes. (16:20) And the holiday bit of the song is about... LABOR DAY! (20:00) Enjoy!

Re: warring factions

HUG!!!

Re: beautiful daughter

Woo hoo!
