Good job, Ben. I like the imagery of the boxing gloves... challenging people to think about what you write.

Ben, I think you've hit the nail on the head about what makes your blog sticky. The z-list was a viral blogroll which everyone wants to be on but really doesn't care about anyone else on the list. This in the MySpace world would be a train, collecting as many 'friends' as possible. But in reality, building your blog equity is no different from building your network in real life. You could either be a fast food joint or a great restaurant frequented by discerning patrons. To do latter, you build it one relationship at a time.

Nice list, Ben. Not sure #1 is as relevant as asking what does success look like for this endeavour. No-one can seriously predict what the exit strategy will be but rather you should be focusing on what value the venture will bring. (unless it's to build to flip) For example, is it making a lot of money or building a great app or creating a huge community? I think it's important to ensure that all participants have the same core values because they are fundamentally what will dictate how critical decisions are made.

Nevertheless, great food for thought. Thanks for the post.
