Excellent post, and interesting read. i too get very annoyed with the amount of people with an extreme lack of seo knowledge who claim they can 'master' the search engines and get guaranteed results to make you money. with SE's, especially google, there will never be a guarantee, unless you use adwords of course.

Indeed there are no guarantees, but people also conveniently forget that adwords is only a guarantee relative to your spend and budget. Hence its guaranteed but only in so much as you have the money to guarantee it!
