I have a Sony DSC F828 that I try to use. My friend has helped me with trying to use the manual settings - with mixed results. The little point and shoot gets the most use as it is the easiest to have handy. Photosnobbery, now that is funny! My favorite photos are never the ones my camera savvy friends think are the best, but, the ones taken on the fly and unplanned.

I am going to visit my friends in Mississippi at the end of the month. Maybe I will get a decent shot or two. My favorite pictures ever were taken with an old Minolta years ago. We we driving through Tennesse and happened across a tornado. After coming out of the ditch I took two rolls of the mess it left. LOL I sure did not worry about focus, lighting, etc. I was so freaked out I just went snap snap snap.

I do enjoy the photos posted here.

I call the disappearing blog trick and other strange happenings in cyber space the attack of the gremlins. The other day someone hacked into my wordpress data base and changed my main password. this provided me with a bit of amusement. I just logged into mysql and opened the tables and changed it back. That will teach me for having a stupid password. Now it is so long and mixed up that I have trouble remembering it LOL.

Maybe I will be inspired by your picture and load up the dogs and go site seeing.

I am glad that my little personal blog is the only one I have to fix - sounds like you were busy. I hope that the wordpress update stops many of the strange occurances. I have noticed my firewall warnings have gone from the screen almost rolling to just 10 to 15 avg./min.

We did not go far settled on a walk around the neighboorhood. Catfish found a nice puddle to splash in and Annie joined him. Our walk was brief as it was really cold - I am a wimp sometimes.

This is all I have to offer since no version info for Firefox or Gmail. I do not use Gmail so consider the source. Do you have this extension installed? Hope you have the problem fixed by the time you read this.

I know what you mean about not trusting. .. lately there have been way too many gremlins in the blogoshere. It really makes you wonder. I have notice a direct link to my visiting certain sites and visits to my site from government IP addys and spam from others. Sad, all I want to do is read other blogs and play with mine.

The udate to 2.02 WordPress went well for me this time. I remembered to deactivate ALL my plugins, did all the backups of the database and the whole site, and this time switched back to the default WP theme before I updated. Last time I did something wrong and had to look for all my posts and repost them - that really sucked! Hope you are getting everything staightened out OK.

BTW- the beans were great I used a mix of twelve beans this time. I need to make a run to the country fruit stand soon.

After reading that I feel so much better -

I was to lazy to make dinner so I mixed yesterdays beans with Saturdays Kung Pao chicken. It actually was not that bad :)

I got my new drivers license in the mail today - I have always half joked about the bad pictures on em - but honestly, no joke, it is so bad that my friends just looked at me and asked - can you get them to take another one? They were serious - it is so bad. I look like I am dead.

It has been so cold the last few days here. The heater decided it will only come on when it wants to - irrelevant to the current temperature or settings. Perhaps kicking it was not the best response but it did come on - for awhile.

I messed up and forgot to go to our Dog Park Commitee meeting tonight. So much for dependability. ...

I am so ready for spring to get here so I can take the dogs on a nice hike and maybe take a nice motorcycle ride along the river road.

I hope you get the teeth thing over and done with. I am lucky, my roomies brother is a good dentist. Maybe you will get to slow down a little while you take care of it all?

After my strokes I know one thing for sure - Life is good as long as your breathing.
Breath in breath out laugh out load cause it is good for you.

Do you want to have a side bar on the other site? The Hemingway theme is interesting a seems easy enough to change the color scheme. the widgets in the admin panel let you choose what shows at the bottom. I almost used it but I like my side bar full of junk right now. maybe tommorrow I will want a cleaner look.

I second the vote for the second one. The lighting and reflection on the water - the trails in the first shot are interesting. Now if only the trails and the sunset reflection were in the same shot --- ha ha like I could do so well :)

Have you used a screen calibration program yet? I used the Adobe one and now what I see is closer to what prints. I downloaded your first picture and looked at it closer - after lightening it up a little it was great! Hope I get some good pictures in Miss. I think I will use the bracket mode just in case LOL chicken that I am.

I just read this as my friend let me us her computer. From my standpoint of being one who was forced to suffer through years of boring dumb downed class material and instructors that fit into the formentioned discriptions- that sucks!!
Schools get money based on how many students are present not how many learn - go figure?
You keep keeping on your daughter is lucky that she has parents that care. Also I posted one picture from my depressing tour of the gulf coast on Catfish ddogs blog. Wordpress will not allow me "authorization" from this computer - I made my security to tight I guess, I am locked out myself :)

It's raining it's pouring is the understatement of the hour :). Such a great picture! I have convinced myself that some day I will be able to take the great shots you do - well hope springs eternal ha ha.

Yesterday the Consumnes River levy break was about 8 miles south of us. Today there have been five breaches, breaks, as of noon but they water seems to be flooding mostly farmlands. The news is showing the latest break at the moment.

We are at 23ft. elevation and two stories, so if the Sacramento levee goes we should be ok as it is about five miles away. My parents are five blocks away from the levee of the Sac. river. at an elevation of 5 feet so that is where my concerns are directed. Sacramento Valley blub blub... great time for rubber duckies!

Great creative idea - storm in a bottle - love the color contrast! The reflection is awesome.

How exciting to know that the irritation and pain will be gone. It is a "good thing" when you have an honest and kind dentist. I will give you an ouch for the price but it is worth it.

I started blogging to figure it out for a friend. Now I just blog cause. Cause why not? I have no particular goals for my blog. Hence the name. It is addictive isn't it? Since one of my stokes after effects (affects?) is problems getting my thoughts together and organized, blogging has really helped me. Sometimes it takes hours to get a thought written out with some type of structure but the effort is well worth it to me. So I guess blogging has become a type of mental therapy. Typing is getting easier now also. Hee, hee, I blog to rehabilitate.

There are only a few blogs that I read daily. I think reading the different tangents taken are most interesting.

I always enjoy checking to see what new photos you have published. Keep - keeping on. Maybe someday I will brave the K2 theme

Oh NO! I just hate it when stuff like that happens. Glad the doctor was in :). I just got my Garmin GPS60CS back from the warrenty center. A pleasant surprise - they sent me a brand new one. Not even refurbished - brand new - woo hoo. The original died on the trip to Mississippi. The techs could not get my data out of the old one. Kind of a bummer because I was going to use the time stamps on the tracking to identify the locations of all my pictures - hence I have not a clues as to where some of them were taken.

It is a good thing that I recieved a brand new one within two weeks of sending in the broken one.

Looking foward to seeing the first picture taken after the surgery and cleaning. The Romaine is making me hungry...

First off, thank you for the plug for Bifurcate in the Road.

I see your point. When we had teenagers living with us they were allowed to use the computer. This was years ago before the sites like My Space but the concerns were still there. Both teenagers were shown/taught what not to devulge. There was little tracking software available then. One youngman whose name I will not publish (uagh umm) was caught looking at something he should not. Easy solution - end of unsupervised surfing. How was he caught? Simple, know the child, know what they are apt to do. The other teenager a few years back thought most of the chat and instant messages were "a waste of computer time". He was more interested in research for his school work. If he did browse his way somewhere he should not have we never knew about it.

I think today, if there were a teenager in the house the computer would be in a public household location until I had an idea of the kids nature. Unsupervised surfing would depend upon the childs maturity and self esteem. Education of the hazzards of the web seems to be key. If parents do not take the time to explain or pay attention - well that is another story.

Oh so too true! My condo is a bit bigger but not much. It too is full of stuff. I confess that most of it is mine. My stuff is semi organized. My roomates are the clutter freaks of the world LOL My new method is oh well I deal with it. I did cut the back of the downstairs closet out so I could utilize all the wasted space under the stairway for storage. Now that is full.

I have considered drilling a hole in the roof, renting a giant vacuum truck and sucking it all out. A bulldozer would only reach the ground floor.

Mantra whilst getting PO'd and trying to organize - Martha Stewart does not live here.

I will hold you to that! It seems almost anybody can get the mechanics of photography down (except me ha ha) BUT it is rare that someone has an eye for it. Your staged photos such as the marbles show great creativity and your nature shots capture the spirit. I also like your macro shots - it is all the small sometimes not noticed things that make up the big picture.

Keep the pictures coming - especially the ones that show me that my home is not the only one cluttered with the proof that life does exist LOL.

My brother was Dyslexic before it was a well known item. His daughter also is. My parents spent years not understanding why he had so much trouble. Thier envolvement and interest in his well being resulted in working with his love of airplanes. He is a licensed air frame and powerplant mechanic and has his pilots license. Right now he works on the planes used in fire fighting.

Rassberrys to the school systems negativity and a large Woo Hoo for all you parents and kids who prove them wrong everyday.

sometimes blogging is a good thing. I can go back and read what I wrote and look at in a new light.

Catfish shares his "bear bear" with me. Poor duck duck quacked its last quack awhile back. Bear Bear is bigger than Catfish. Dogs do not worry about all the "stuff" they just go with the flow and love us unconditionally.

I did read some of the stories - my problem is that I am not just in a very forgiving mood right now. Self centered, pity pot, whatever ya want to call it.

I often wonder why I consider thinking of myself selfishly must always be a bad thing? Do not other people take some time for themselves. Emm a luxury? Lately I have cut down the blogs I read to a small few. I am in information overload. Some of the ADHD points you mention sound very similar to things that I experience and have experienced as a recovering alcoholic (sober since 1982). The little hampster cage in my head starts spinning - my moods go nuts - and then I remember that I need to let go and let God . ..

I do not have an extra Boody aka Booda but I do have a cute Cuddly Quarry Critter named PeeWee that meets or exceeds governmental safety regulations including EN71 and the US Toy Safety Standard ASTM F963. .. If I had your addy I would send him to you - he is a little brown puppy.

I also have torn off the remove under penalty of law tags on my couch .. LOL My townhouse is a disaster area and I will soon be posting hazardous area signs. I am 48 and my parents are getting internet so now I am freakin about them reading my blog. Like grow up Jan! They can not eat you. Maybe I will get a differnet domain so I can anonymously blog away. The ____ that hit me today had no insurance etc.

How was that whew I feel better ...

I am not as sore as I thought I might be. I just have to move about with care. I recieved a nice cell phone message this afternoon from the young gal in the last car of the train. It was so sweet, she wanted to see if I was OK and said that even though it sounded strange she was glad that if she had to be in a wreck that it was with me because I had been so nice and supportive. :)

Her call and goodness well override the evil woman from Oakland. There are good people in the world and sometimes they just kind of run into each har har har pun intended.

I have known of few mentally ill people that were convinced by a group to throw out their meds and they had the answer. Unfortunately the members were not Doctors. Two weeks and a few days later we were at a funeral - the minister that officiated was not from the anti med group.

Having been through a similar but less distructive experience (a provider in my case) I understand the frustration of the circular email scam. I call it a scam because all emails led to nowhere or back to another email I already had used. It is a smoke screen - to hid the lack of service - or worse yet - security.

I have never signed up for any goo-gle options - something good happened this week :) luck wise.

I know you will keep us posted - I am off to yahoo and creative commons search about the new evil empire in the land of bits and bytes.

The only thing of interest was on post mentioning that they thought they were hacked but after a cut and past of a long google system error message they person stated that it was an adsense proble. I did not bookmark it as there was no reason, solution, or explaination in the post.

When I get back from the doctors I will search on hope you all find a solution to the problem. I have never used gmail so my personal experience is zero.

I do understand the frustration - FRUSTRATION! AUGH and all that. How does Gmail store its passwords? emm

Sounds like some progress has been made. The only common theme I found today searching under google and gmail was a trail of security problems and no easy access to any help/solution that usually appeared after an upgrade.

After all my problems when my sql password was changed - locking me out - I have really done all I can do at my end of the deal to protect myself. I no longer use IE I use Firefox. I use yahoo mail and thunderbird - never outlook. Anywhere that allows it I use long combination passwords - letters numbers and symbols - all random. The password thing has turned into such a cluster mess that I have committed the worst sin of all - oh my goodness- I have them written down here at my computer desk. I figure if someone breaks in and steals my computer and takes the time to find the passwords and use em I will deal with it. The chance of that is smaller than the chance of me remembering an eleven character password.

Hackers are __________ I am glad you have made some progress and hope you do get back all your mail.

I imagine once you have solved this issue and blog all the steps your ratings will increase - which in turn will probably bring on more hackers LOL it is a visous cycle.

You do realize that taking the time to: "if for no other reason than to have a series of steps on the blog for anyone else who might have this happen to them. I’m keeping screenshots and copies of my email so that I can create a complete record of what happened and when." Is a very non self centered thing to do and very much apart of "the big picture"

Well lets see emmm.... I was born here but I only have one form of legal picture ID - my drivers license. If I read that correct I will need two? No one took my picture when I was born LOL. I have no passport. I can see if I read this right I am in deep doo doo. Now three id's DL, SScard, and birth cert....

But the new ID would just be another form of ID that someone else could expoit. I guess I should go get a passport before the going gets tougher?

If the problem is a secure identity card how is using a birth certificate that may or not be accurate (mine is not as I am adopted - so it is altered) , a social security card that was issued based on info the person provided - the little form my mom helped me fill out years ago, and a Drivers License based upon the former two?

I was born here in California, I planned to die in California, I never have had the desire to leave the United States so I never got a passport. Next they will want us to get a micro chip like my dogs have.

Perhaps I should go to the local graveyard, write down a name, apply for a copy of the birth certificate, send off for a social security card, get a passport and a drivers license .... so my new electronic ID card will be accurate - anybody with a little time, research, and the desire to defraud, could still do this .. so what is the point?

Perhaps you should try the spam killer on the fleas and the flea killer on the spam? Best I could do at 3:11 in the morning. My blog get about 40 to 50 a day now - I consider it an honor since only 4-10 people actually visit it per day :)

I think spammers should be forced to provide thought provoking, on subject, comments. Not the boring loan, Viagra, and get rich quick stuff - yawn.

I clear my emails once everyday unless I make it two. I only save emails that contain verifications for transactions and such. If they are really important I print em out and file them.

When I recieved 50 or so a day I moved them around into folders marked:

save
friend
work

I did have one more but it was rather rude I suppose but telling:

this is where I placed the fowared messages that some friends send because they think I really need to know something.

I think that if I lost everything and needed help that Help is Help.

I always try to put things in perspective with "One God Many Paths". Not that I think that Scientology is a viable path. I noted when back south that some "Evangelists" were actually there to help and lead by example while others where there to use the opportunity to push their beliefs and used it as condition of their offering help.

Defining religion, cults, folklore, and spiritualism, is difficult. When does a belief change into a religion and where is the line drawn that defines the move into full blown cultism? ( is that a word?). Are the Four Corners and the Great Spirit less true than the Jesus of Nazareth? What about the teachings of of Siddhartha Guatama?

My personal belief is that Scientology is a bunch of crap, a cult, and very dangerous.

And now I can rant on LOL. This IS the reason kmilyun has decided to move to a new host and new domain and NOT be prime time live.

I agree with you. There is no takin' back the info that is out there :(

My situation is easy - I really have not built a great blog following nor do I have a website up right now. If I choose to I can take it all down and wait for th site cache to dissappper. Then I am only left with - Hello! everyone can goo gle me send me junk mail. My mind is a in a framework of paranoid thoughts - what if someone really decided that something I wrote was worth knocking on my front door?

What once was a fun grass roots type cyber world is now just another area to be guarded and wary of. I do not care if the government knows who I am since I have nothing to hide. It annoys me on the "freedom" level but I don't stress over it. I do stress over any tom dick or Mary can punch of few keys and know where I live and get my freakin phone number! Gheezzz.

I don't like having to censor what I write.

The link you mention did work for me - it brought up another list of services to go try and get removed from LOL. Unfortunately this one wiki WHOIS could go away and the info would still be out there for years to come. I can remove the site and wait for everything cached to dissappear but who kmilyun is and where kmilyun lives will still be public info.

Perhaps Kmilyun will slowely fade into the sunset and as you know (and I add only you at this point know what it is) a new identity will take her place in cyber land. Fear not you are always welcome to have a blog on my space where you can blog away using a different name if you truly need to vent :)

I run full versions of anit virus and have my router and my computer behind firewalls. I I scan with both Ad-Aware and SuperAntiSpyware. Every once in awhile something sneaks by - usually my bad caused by clicking the wrong button.

The lastest emails that have gotten by my spam guard have the title "your photo". I assume this is to lure me in thinking it relates to Flickr - I dunno and I sure did not open it to find out.

With all the virus variants and bored folks out there creating them I sometimes wonder if crossing my fingers for luck is not one of my better defenses.
