I couldn't agree more. Sadly, that's one of my fears of the blogs (mine included) We hear great things from people that we don't know. They might make something that's incredibly difficult seem like the easiest thing in the world...and we have no idea what their personal struggle with this issue looks like.

I believe that you can impress at a distance and only truly impact up close...

I love what you're saying. I always cringe a bit when I hear a comment about another ministry (in this case, EE) But I sure did love the rest.

I see it as nothing more than encouragement to spend more time with Jesus. You can't export what you're not importing.
I'd also say that this will never really shine through with signs, t-shirts, sermons or big meetings...it's all about relationships.

I agree with Maxwell -and I think life on life, relational discipleship is what impacts. We can impress at a distance, but we impact up close.
A blog is a sermon. It's good for what it is...but conversations, life lived out...that's what truly inspires.
I love blogs, but it's the relational dynamics of my friendships/mentors/Paul/Timothy relationships that really motivate life change.

I feel your pain. My dad fixed everything with a phone instead of a screw driver.

I'd be careful about saying "without even talking to each other" followed by "I love that"
