It's really solid advice, Ben. One thing I would add is attracting venture capital involves a lot of work before and after funding given many VCs want/need to meet, discuss, be involved, etc.

Great, yet another way for the Twitter-Nation to be even more connected. Frankly, I don't get this Twitter phenomena: it seems far too 1984-ish, and downright strange people feel the need to broadcast where they are and whaat they're doing.

Glad to see another blog looking to cover the Canadian start-up scene! Hopefully, we can encourage more entrepreneurs to take the leap.

Whether or not it's true, it's nice to see a company that has its roots in Calgary get some attention.

I wonder whether more magazines and newspapers will have to pay their reporters to blog - and blog well. After all, everyone needs a carrot, right?

Things like Twitter are just digital crack - little real value but certainly good places to waste time if you want something else to do other than watch TV.

It would have been nice if the BW article had taken the to challenge the $400-million podcast premise - as opposed to accepting it as a given. Other than the fact Google could set its sites on the podcast market, I'm puzzled by the expectations that podcast advertising is poised to take off when it's, at best, a marginal business right now.

If Scoble is blogging for the links or they're that important to him, then he should take a good look at why he's blogging. The way his rant comes across is he would be upset if the video was viewed 500,000 times but only a handufl of people linked to it. Strange.

Focus more on who reads your blog, not who links to it. It makes life simple.

nice job, aaron. it was fair and it provides FB with a lot of insight into what their users think, want and need.

so what's yahoo doing making all these conflictive strategic moves? surely, terry semel has a masterplan, right? either garlinghouse is semel's agent of change or he's bucking for a nice severance package while making sure he gets some more profile as he looks for his next gig. frankly, nothing is ever this black and white - and garlinghouse's piece looks very, very grey.

sorry, i couldn't make it. it would have been a lot of fun - and much more interesting than sitting in laguardia for four hours.

so is there any room for a standalone RSS reader or do RSS readers simply become part of web browsers? i use feeddemon, although i would love to know how ot snynch my feeds between different computers.
