in TV Watcher: American Idol on Conversations With Marva
Yes, I'm SURE I heard you laughing. I was actually picturing you and Jordyn laughing while I was watching it. BTW, I have no right to judge ANYONE - did you notice how I can't spell acquaintance??? Well, shut my mouth!

I'm with you - Taylor Hicks???? I'm convinced that it doesn't have as much to do with talent as it does with one's ability to convince their friends, acquaintences, relatives, coworkers, friends friends, acquaintences acquaintences, relatives relatives and coworkers coworkers, not to mention anyone who lived in his town/state, to vote for them. Although he didn't seem smart enough to have that much political savvy. No matter, I have been addicted to AI from day 1. So much so, that when I was so desperate for employment and so thankfully got a job, my very FIRST thought when I found out I had to work on Tuesday nights, was OMG I'll miss American Idol! Now that's a really sad comment on my exciting life! At least I can enjoy the beginning tryouts on Wednesday nights - they are too funny (and actually quite sad) - I think I heard you guys laughing from here!

in Introducing Layla on Conversations With Marva
This is more than a wonderfully written story by an extremely talented writer. I really feel Layla, only from the opposite side; I was too skinny and always one of the guys because I LOOKED like one of the guys. And, I actually had a roommate who stole my man. It all just seems so pitiful, doesn't it? But, in the end, I can say that my 20-year class reunion was an absolute blast. Guess what? You hope and dream and it does happen! May I please be first in line at your book signing? I can tell all my "friends" at the next reunion that I know you personally. Now, that's something!

in Sunday Inspirations: What Is A Friend? on Conversations With Marva
Thanks for the beautiful post. You have the heart of a true friend and that is why you ARE family. You know what I love? My life can be a mess, my house can be a mess, my HAIR can be a mess, my dog can be a mess, all my stuff a mess...and you NEVER run the other way. You are someone that never makes me feel ashamed or embarrassed to show you who I am, all or nothing. I've known from the very second I met you that we were on the same page (except your page is a BOOK), and that we were destined to become great friends. I love you, my friend!

in Superwoman on Conversations With Marva
Ok, now you can see I write like I talk - I even interrupt MYSELF before I finish reading, but have to comment on COUGARS. I am all for YOUNGER, however with my current situation, here's what I'm looking for: 99-105 year old, billionnaire on way out after my name is on just some of the assets, who I will guarantee a FABULOUS honeymoon to ease and hurry along his exit. How's that for been there, done that and now tired of it all and willing to do THAT!

P.S. This is what I could not/would not want to do without: my precious puppy-dog, Sophie MM. I'm oh-so-thankful for her pure love and her genuine excitement to see me walk in the door each day. I've never been able to get that kind of consistency from another human being...sad, huh?

I LOVE my laptop - wireless is THE way to go...my laptop goes where I go and I use it all the time now vs. not wanting to carry my lazy butt ALL THE WAY to the computer room to use the desktop. You can use a laptop on the couch, in your bed, on the patio, on the toilet, during dinner, in the car, in many restaurants/coffee shops...you get the picture. It really is nice and, like I said, I LOVE MY LAPTOP!

You are the truest definition of what I think a parent should be. The proof is in the pudding and your son is so blessed to have both of you to guide him. You have such a kind and generous soul.....

Congrats on the new you, the new site, the new personal, professional and spiritual happenings that are headed your way, and oh-just-everything! I CANNOT believe you haven't read "To Kill a Mockingbird"??? One of my very favorite books/movies. On the flip side, "Canterbury Tales" ??? Had to study Chaucer in a college course - count me out on that one, my life is quite full without it... :!:

AND...I, too, thought I had ALL the right stuff to get that oh-so-elusive check. The BEST possible last 2 digits, direct deposit info on my tax return...to no avail! And, Marva, tell me now, do you know ANYONE who needs it worse than me right now??? I feel like they just keep dangling that fake damn carrot in my face!

So amazing the memories and thoughts this story has conjured up in my waaaaay too old, stale and boring mind! Your witticism cannot be matched - the unexpected, quick, and humorous combination of ideas always makes me smile... (By the way, I KNOW Gregory Thomas!! Who's Shiela kidding? More like Vienna sausages!)

I tried to post a comment about your thought-provoking words, but for some reason, can't seem to get my words posted! So, this tells me that my mind has deteriorated to a NON-thinking level...and, perhaps I'm not able to play today.

Your words are truly thought-provoking (which is simply amazing to think a thought could still occur in this fog-filled brain of mine...). You have ALL the right stuff, meaning the right words, the right passion, the right talent, honesty, integrity---need I continue?? I KNOW you will find your way!
Suggested song for this scenario: "I'm Comin' Out" by Diana Ross (so could you please get that song on your blog, since I haven't a clue how to do it myself?)
