Unless Kevin Rudd calls Barack Obama using a gold plated Iphone local items just get swallowed up by big overseas sites.

Thats also part of the pitch we make to the local MSM publishers, 'Social news by Australians for Australians'. Slowly we are winning them over (one or two to go).

Thanks again.

Will try and catch you at the meetup for a utag chat.

Re: Kwoff Gets Picked Up By More Big Media

Thanks Duncan, we'd appreciate the support.

If you dont get around to it i hope to have the WP sociable plugin that includes kwoff available in the next week or so.

Dan

Re: Kwoff Gets Picked Up By More Big Media

thanks scalpel, good pickup, we are part of the template for all of those regional sites.

Its been great to look at the 'referers log' over the last week, plenty of inquisitive regional australians clicking on a "k" they have never seen before, some from publications and towns i'd never heard of, fantastic!

Re: The Australian Startup Index - Tell Us What You Think!

Kim,

Good questions, but be wary of making a rod for your own back. Compiling these extra stats will be costly (time and $$$$).

the current rankings are flawed but relatively easy to compile, so stick with them, enhanced measurement tools will become available overtime and you can evaluate and include when appropriate.

and yes, keep international traffic as a measure, many of these sites are taking on the world, not just oz.
