in Australian Parliament condemns Citizen Journalist MP over Protest Pictures on The Inquisitr
i'm guessing rudds 'heavy counselling' touched not only on the donation 'afterthought' but also took a general 'rise above the fray'/ 'conduct unbecoming' line.
But ever the micromanager, Rudds main bugbear would simply have been that a labor parliamentarian took part in a media event that he did not himself authorise/orchestrate.

in The Australian Startup Index - Tell Us What You Think! on TechNation Australia
Kim,
Good questions, but be wary of making a rod for your own back. Compiling these extra stats will be costly (time and $$$$).
the current rankings are flawed but relatively easy to compile, so stick with them, enhanced measurement tools will become available overtime and you can evaluate and include when appropriate.
and yes, keep international traffic as a measure, many of these sites are taking on the world, not just oz.

thanks scalpel, good pickup, we are part of the template for all of those regional sites.
Its been great to look at the 'referers log' over the last week, plenty of inquisitive regional australians clicking on a "k" they have never seen before, some from publications and towns i'd never heard of, fantastic!

in Kwoff asks the question: can Australia sustain its own Digg-like site? on The Inquisitr
Thanks for the post and the Kwoff button on Inquisitr Duncan.
I'll be sure to pass on Gregs thoughts on your post.
As for the Kwoff aesthetics, mea culpa, i think i've got to wake up to the fact i'm the only one who likes it.
All the best

Thanks Kim,
Though you've jinxed me with the 'Nice Guy' call, we all know they finish last! :-)
As for the local Digg/Reddit users we would love to get some attention but its important to note that we are not attempting to clone/compete with either of those sites.
We started Kwoff to give items of interest to Australians a chance to shine thru the process of social news voting. Unless Kevin Rudd calls Barack Obama using a gold plated Iphone local items just get swallowed up by big overseas sites.
Thats also part of the pitch we make to the local MSM publishers, 'Social news by Australians for Australians'. Slowly we are winning them over (one or two to go).
Thanks again.
Will try and catch you at the meetup for a utag chat.
