I especially love the eHarmony part! You're cracking me up. In Ireland, it was tea leaves all the way, but I love this. The spider sandwich reminded me of how I once bit into a dried fig to find I had eaten half a beatle.

I have probably eaten my share of dead bugs. But it's all protein, right? Here in the US of A, we read coffee stains. Manly coffee stains, the kind that can eat through wood and permanently stain your Brooks Brother's monogrammed shirt. Thanks for commenting Robbie.:O)

My, what a wicked sense of humor you have. This is all too surreal, but also makes a lot of sense. Excellent!

Yes indeed. Evolution is all about adaptability. Prediction one is a given if the planet is to thrive. Prediction two: hooray! Less clothes=better social life. A hemp thong? Why not?
As for prediction three, I for one would sorely miss this blog! I do, however, agree that real-world relationships will always supplant cyber ones. At least I hope so. Online friends should make a pointing of real-worlding these relationships. Otherwise, we become weirdos.

Through Twitter I have met many great people (one of them Steve Spalding) and I have met a few offline as well, and we have become friends that share common stories. The micro-blog has given us short peeks into each other lives where blogs don't. We can view it all on one page. And not have to travel far to see what is new in each of our lives.
Less clothing, more like common cuts of clothing. Less detail more silk screening. Time is money, so time spent on producing a piece of clothing comes down to a simple cut. However, it takes an elegant and refined hand to truly create something different using the same pattern.
Just like websites, all cut from the same cloth, yet it is only the few that can stand alone in their design and functionality.

Oh dear. I hadn't thought about all of this, so busy was I taking my Geritol and wondering whether I'm a baby boomer of Gen X. I'm on the cusp, but I've already experienced the tingling in my mouse hand and a tendency to view documents in a magnified form. I was given a great video Ipod, but I don't have the desire to use it. It's not that it's beyond me so much as I just like the sound of vinyl. I'm I anti-technology or a purist? Ophelia, as per usual, gives me food for thought. I look forward to this column as the writer never fails to get my brain juices flowing (and, at my age, that's a good thing... )

Thank you Robbie. And vinyl will never die. You can't loose a Byrd Blue Note LP in a hard drive crash. :O)

Oh dear. Now I'm wanting to erase some of those tidbits. And, yes, knowing what someone presents as his or herself in an online profile is quite different from shaking his or her hand. Online dating anyone? In-the-flesh communications are many times removed from cyber varieties. Maybe it's just the absence of pheromones. Would some scratch and sniff method prove useful?

that would be funny. you could be online with a potential date, but the "Sniffer" on your desktop would shoot out a whif of pizza and stale socks from the other side.

Well said! The reply versus forward blunder strikes a chord for me. Your timing is perfect because I had just myspace-messaged a friend to ask for their snail mail account. I'm back into letter writing and finding it therapeutic. Email generally seems to be done in a hurry whereas letter writing gives me time to ruminate.
