Stop silly mass behavior like followfriday?

Yes, I admit I've taken part in followfriday, and it was nice in the beginning, but now it is simply extremely irritating and i don't think it provides a useful purpose as most of those taking part are simply spammers.

Totally agree. Where does this screaming douche get his overblown confidence? I loved when he told the audience to check out the lyrics to "One" b/c they're good. Really??? That's b/c U2 wrote it, you asshole. I can't believe they wasted the rights to that song on him. SUCKS!!!

in Graduates' job searches clouded by depression, anxiety | Columbia Spectator on Columbia Spectator
As important and interesting as this subject matter is, I am curious why the author based this story on the experiences of a single pseudonymous alum. Many people are willing to discuss their experiences with depression openly -- by name -- and I feel confident that the Spec could have found one or more Columbia grads to do so.
If mental health problems warrant the same treatment as physical ailments for the purposes of workers' comp and insurance (and I believe they do), why treat depression with kid gloves in a newspaper article? Would you have similarly changed the name of someone who had broken a leg?
I have no qualms with someone who wants to keep their medical information private -- that is every person's right -- but if Spec plans to write about depression, it should do so on the basis of named sources. Such cloak-and-dagger reporting is unnecessary and contributes to the stigma and furtiveness that often surround mental illness.

in 40K RUMORS: Imperial Guard Fast & Heavy Info on Bell of Lost Souls
Remember how "Broken" The Marine codex was supposed to be when we heard those rumors. (Most of which where true.)
I patiently withold judgment until I see a release and games are played.
And excitedly wait for the SW codex.... If it's done like this there will be some nasty fun games in the Future against '5th Ed' Codecies methinks.

in ETF Shopping on Daily Options Report
Just out of curiosity, how do you keep on top of newly optionable ETFs whose option volume or open interest has suddenly hit a desired trading threshold?

agwarner
I don't. If I look and it's wide markets, no volume, like XRT was, it goes
off the radar. I just noticed recently that it was tradable as an option
(the stock itself was always fine).
Really though, I don't think it's a volume threshhold per se. ETF's
themselves are often fine even if the volume is light as you can always get
fills on small orders when they're near NAV. And for options, i really look
more for multiple listing than anything else. Same thing, you'll get good
fills on multi-listed products when they're fair value.

in Nielsen Ratings Thursday, July 10: Greatest American Dog is No Woofer on TVbytheNumbers
I found the dog show to be terribly stupid. And not very focused on the dogs at all. The people were not that interesting either. I imagine that the numbers will drop off.
