You are right. You have to return your DVd to get the new release.

I found a new way to get the new release from netflix without the long wait. When you see the new release trailer showing in the theater, go to netflix and put in on hold in your que. You'll be the first one to get it mailed to you when it comes out in the future.

I noticed that when I go to a busy Redbox, the box is well stocked in the new release (popular movie that comes out on tuesday) and less of the old movie. The less traffic Redbox has less new release and a better selection of the older movie. I could also be that customer will rent from one kiosk and return the movie at a different kiosk.

Redbox monitors how many movies are being rented daily, weekly, or monthly. The redbox that I rented from is very busy especially after work and on weekend. They just added a second redbox machine in the store. My suggestion is to rent late or eary in the morning to beat the rush.

The empty case is just that. Just an empty case when you lost a case and can't return a movie. The case is for $1.

I have seen many people return their dvd and walk away. The redbox will flash a message that the dvd is returned successfully and the customer walk away. On some occasion the Redbox machine will spit the DVD back because the DVD was put in the case with the barcode on the bottom. If the next customer is honest, the next customer will fix the problem and try again or they make just walk with the DVD and the other customer is stuck with the $25.00 charge for not returning the DVD.. Lesson learn. After putting the DVD in the return slot, wait until the screen return to the original beginning screen to make sure the DVD is returned successful.

The code still work. The redbox machine is rejecting the code temporarily. Try the code another day.

I was just curious how Redbox decide which movie to put in the box. Are they polling the customers?

I tried two codes at the redbox yesterday. I report the first code and this website accepted the post. But the second code that I tried, this website doesn't record the code that it has failed.

There are specific code that work at specific location and store in your area. It is good for a long time.
In Maryland at my local Giant, the code "GIANT" is working. I don't think it work in any other market.

I have some promotion code from another kiosk. It is call dvdplay found in safeway supermarket. How do I go about to share this information
