in #416 – He who was been hurt most on Lint
Happy anniversary, Ron and Colby!
And may I just say--very good spot to leave us on a cliff-hanger. Oh, the suspense! Oh, the agony! (Seriously, yikes! That's got to hurt for Fang, just look at the fear/terror on his face/in his eye--of course, that could be for realizing what's about to happen...and then I just noticed the drops of blood, very nice touch...)
Can the others be saved with this maneuver? And what about grabbing the earring before, why couldn't Sang do that? Of course, when they were fighting, they had the swords up between them...never mind.)
Yes...it will end soon. I will miss it then.

What about that small, crotchety wizard that gave Derf his voice back?

It's all very good, Colby--keep up the good work!
Oh, and for interesting stuff--how about something with Stump? He hasn't been around a lot either in the last few comics--in the foreground, at least, I don't know about the background. And Gaffer, yes, he was with Stump--the old 'buddies'--but now where have they gone off to? To a drinking game, or just playing cards with Pedro the dragon?
Then there's that Cigar-Smoking Hermit...
Or--have Derf trying to be a regular ogre; that might be funny.
And Al'bert--Where's Al'bert? Is he dead?

I second wanting to see old Pedro again. Maybe in a happy mood listening to his band...

in #408 - The rules are laid down, for some reason on Lint
What a way to fight a war--the 'duel sur la wits'. Of course, Derf has the upper hand here, being so widely read, but Zedwig has his own 'wits' about him--how else could he have survived so long, even with Fang's favoritism/need of him? I guess this was the only way they could compete against each other without Zedwig completely killing everyone...if Fang was around, this wouldn't be around. Well, when the cat's away, the mice will play--or duel.
And, of course, the Wiz had to be there--just to get his comeuppance, and a few laughs. He's got that annoying attitude down-pat--even on the comics' page, you can tell.

Oh, it's wonderful! Regnar--even he can't believe it. And that random guy--awesome!
Of course, kudos to Derf for trying to 'outwit' the dumbest human in site, but even his 'super' finger pointing can't get him what he wants. I do love the flair with the color panels, and there is something very nice about the lineart for all of the characters--drawn with color or not; they are always very expressive and riveting with your fully developed style.

Devilish hair, devilish face--especially in the second panel. He just looks so earnestly evil in an amoral, ambiguous way--like before Lucifer the angel fell.

Oh, Goose is getting away! Now that's terrible...however, I'm sure that Hope is going to take care of this mess.

Howling wail of despair...oh, Kelneth! The agony...Brenge! Curse you, Zedwig--curse you!!!!!
Well...now that's done with...very good work, Colby. You've made this as dramatic and angst-ridden as it could get. Oh...and I know this isn't over with...

Oh, Bactine! I guess Sangwine doesn't yet realize what all is involved in healing...if she does die, he'll blame himself--because of the wound and because he went off after Fang. She only hopes that he can forgive himself because she did love him and did everything she could to save him--knowing the consequences. And yes, Fang running does have a...slightly comical effect. Just like that Count (?) in 'The Princess Bride'

in #395 - Failure to load can have consequences on Lint
Whoo-hoo! He rises with the sun--yay, Sangwine! Awesome tableau with that last panel, Bactine's vicious presence is a nice touch, and now it finally feels like it's come to the final showdown--and Fang looks so frantic on the other side. He's got to be going a little crazy, trying to control Zedwig (I assume that's why he's holding his hand to his head) and get over his reluctance to fire--'failure to load can have consequences'.

You just made me think of Avatar, that moment when Zuko says something to the tune of "You rise with the moon. I rise with the sun." (only much more dramatic and kickass)
.....
Anyway, awesome update -- there's so many things to gush over that I can hardly get anything out!

Awesome! Awesome, Awesome Awesome! It's just so beautiful...the two of them together are gorgeous even when they're on the verge of death and destruction. It almost seems tragic, but they're going to triumph because they're together!

in CHAPTER 15: SUNRISE on Lint
They're both falling from darkness--Zedwig is closer to darkness, crazy with destructive magic, but Fang is returning to glory--the sunlight--either through some sort of redemption or some sort of sacrifice, possibly in death, but overall he does something that makes him turn back into Fangline. Maybe he does it for the sake of his mother, like saving his brother Sangwine, of else the slab is just his own gravestone.
The thing with the cloak-tail is very reminiscent of the Sistine Chapel, like the connection between God and man, and that is one last connection that will end in death, for either one or both. Oh, and...Sunrise; this is going to cover the major battle, all through the night, until the sun rises--on a new day, on a new start for Schoefflina. (Uh...elf country? I don't know if I spelled the name right.)

Based on a book by Peter S. Beagle...read the book not too long ago, very short and sweet--about 120 pages. I had seen the movie when I was little, but I couldn't remember much--maybe I'll see it again soon.

"Staying alive, staying alive, ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh"--
Seriously--you can't just tell someone to stay alive. But...yay for Bactine! Score one for the feisty companion--zip for the villain at present, though that might change. And...yes; yes, Sangwine does look oddly peaceful. I hope he's going to be okay. Some last piece of magic? Maybe a bit of a dream sequence?

Oh, James!!!! No wonder Fang knew so much about Bactine...and I suppose the Goose must have once witnessed her heal someone, or at least heard about her powers! And so...I wonder what's going to happen to the Goose once they learn that's he an evil traitor?
But in any case...pokey time! Or--maybe not.

I'm kinda thinking that if everyone found out about goosie-boy being a traitor, the result would be similar to that thing in Colby's art meme where Xylic and James go camping together and forget to bring any food. ;)

Oh, yeah, when Bactine burst in and Sangwine ran up to her--I was laughing, it was such a beautiful moment for the two characters, but I couldn't help it! But now...*dum da dum*....Fang is about to make his mark; first he was outraged--or 'shocked'--but now he is amused...and ready to fight.
