Relationships are hard, but this one seems particularly hard. My experience is only mine, but it tells me that if you guys get to a healthy place, it'll be one where fights never get to that level. Some people get there from being compatible. My s.o. also worked at it and have learned to see fights coming down the line and deflecting it early with humor or taking a step back. But what you describe isn't just how it is between men and women. I think you should strive for a happier place. Fwiw, which, maybe isn't much since I don't really know you. :)

I first lost faith in CNN during their non-stop coverage of the Jon Benet Ramsey case 8ish years ago. Lewinski fest didn't help either. Back then, I thanked the stars for Google News. Now Goog News is also old somehow...

Are you a packrat in life as well as in email? I am. I just recently moved and finally gave away my graphics, computer languages, and systems textbooks even though I've been a UI designer for 2 years and am headed to grad school in the fuzzy psych anthro side of HCI, if anything. But somehow, I couldn't bring myself to give away my AI, computer ethics, or gender sociology course readers. My email is this way too. My gmail has 10s of thousands of messages JUST in the inbox, and I like knowing the archived stuff is out of the way, but still there. I still have essays I wrote in high school. The only time I've gotten rid of computer files was when the divine forces of hardware failure ripped them from my iron grip.
