No one is worried that you don't like watching soccer. Frankly, who cares? Can't you see the Sounders have a big fan base without you? It's all good. Go watch what you like. For those who want to have an open mind, Qwest Field will be 'open' this spring and summer with a club carrying the "Seattle" banner. Check it out!

After the long discussion, I've decided to attend at least one Sounder's game. I've never been. Maybe I'll enjoy it!

KK...the Sounders have been playing at Qwest Field since 2003 in a lower league. As for the rest, no one is holding a gun to your head, don't watch if you don't like the sport.

in Opposing View: Why the Seattle Sounders FC Matter on SeaTown Sports
Not everyone likes to watch the sport of soccer, but all Seattle sports fans like to associate with winners. Maybe you do like to watch soccer, maybe you long for Seattle to have a winner. Either way, hopefully the Sounders will eventually bring some trophies while they are bringing pro soccer back to Seattle.

Why does it always have to be 'soccer vs. every other sport?' Why can't we just enjoy the different sports for what they offer?
Soccer is more popular in Seattle than it is in just about any other city in America. Seahawks season ticket holders make up a fair percentage of Sounders season ticket holders.
We are talking about a new club representing our city in a sport we haven't had a 'major league' club in since 1983. Soccer fans are giddy, and Seattle sports fans can wait it out and see if the Sounders make us ALL proud. There is no competition between or for fans. Seattle can love all of its teams.

Even if the game is new to you, I think you'll like the atmosphere and Seeing 'another kind' of Seattle fan atmosphere with flags, streamers, chanting, etc. Also, soccer definitely takes a while to get used to as a spectator. You have to train yourself to watch and be ready for quick changes. In baseball and Football you know when your team is out on offense. In soccer it can happen at any time and on any fast break.

Okay, I've played soccer competitively a good deal of my life so I'm familiar with the game and actually enjoyed playing it a lot. I've just never had interest watching it, the only soccer games I've watched are my high school's team's playoff's games. My point of view is only my point of view, I dislike soccer just like people dislike baseball, football, etc. I'm just voicing my opinion. Also, I do believe soccer players are the most fit athletes on the planet. Maybe even more fit than long-distance runners. Soccer is fine. Being a soccer spectator...Well I don't know..I guess I'll try going to one and post my thoughts. Go Sounders!

Come to a match. See if you like it. If not, then keep supporting Seattle's other teams.

I'll take that up. To tell the truth, I've never been to a pro soccer game. :)

in Ljungberg to Seattle an Embarrassing Move on Major League Soccer Talk
In other words, Freddie, his agent, and all of the Sounders doctors, trainers, owners and talent scouts are liars.
The embarrassment is that you even posted this. Try actually talking with the people involved before falling for internet hysteria. You've lost points in my book.

The standings don't lie. The 3 best clubs are Puerto Rico, Vancouver and Montreal. Anyone else winning it all would be a huge upset.

Yep. It's going to be awesome. I love the current Sounders and will be a season ticket holder for the new MLS team. In some ways it's a shame that we will lose the small team feel. The kids all know the players from local clubs. It's like a big family.
