in Wow, Vic Gundotra leaves Microsoft for Google on Scobleizer
I agree with Hasan that most probably the financial benefit is the key reason. Microsoft should take this matter seriously. Losing an experienced employee is never a good thing for any company.

"What’s different about it? They have nice support for mobile phones. I played tonight with it on a Nokia phone and the service helped me find several podcasts and listen to them."
Great. How technology is changing our life with the speed of wind. We are really lucky to be born in this time.

at first, I thought that the price may be too much but then I did the conversion in my local currency and found that such a house in my own city would have cost you more or less the same or not too less.

in Blogging real estate on Scobleizer
Robert, I visited the blog but I am disappointed to see that he does not even post once a week. So, I guess he will find it difficult to use his blog as an effective tool for business. Advice him to post more often. He is an experienced man. Many people can get benfited from his advice.

in Peter says podcasting is inefficient on Scobleizer
Podcasting will take off after millions of people in third world can have better internet connection. In my country, podcasting has hardly any user base because of low internet speed.

in Buffett funds Gates’ foundation on Scobleizer
I am from a poor country Robert. I feel that the best help that can Bill Gates and Warren Buffet give us is give every family a PC and free software with internet connectivity. The digital divide is too much for us and if our people do not have access to PC and internet (now 90% of people in south asia do not have this access), then people will always suffer. If one person from a family can shine then the whole family can have a secure future.
Just imagine Robert, if you did not have access to computer and internet for your whole life!

I am not a fan of going to the cinema and like you Robert, I enjoy watching movie in my TV set. Well, for millions of people in my part of the world (South Asia( going to cinema hall every weekend is the best form of entertainment. Not for me.

in Browser wars (Opera ships) on Scobleizer
I am from South Asia and I love Opera simplye because of its speed. I have to work with 5-6 KBPS bandwidth and that is why Opera is so cool to me. It gives me the best speed. So, I use 99% of the time Opera and it helps me to increase my productivity by saving me some valuable browsing time.

in Production values debate breaks out during videologger session on Scobleizer
I agree with you Robert. Here quality of the production is not the issue. THe main issue is do people like it or not and are people interested to spend some time from their every day life or not. Video blogs will gain a momentum within just 2 years when millions and may be nearly one billion users from Asia and Africa get connected to high speed internet. The market is going to increase mutlifuld with in just 2-3 years.

in Getting kicked off of Wikipedia for “not being notable” on Scobleizer
I once written an article about a topic in my blog and in the WIki page on that topic, on the external link, I included a link to my entry which was. Then it was removed by an editor who has no track record about that field. This is perhaps one of the reasons why Wikipedia has not become credible.

SO what would the robots do when Windows is hacked or infected by a virus? Lol

Great idea Robert. I agree with you totally and I really wish that soon we can have such a network which will let us keep 100% of our own earning and take 80% of the users they provide. I wish that you could start something like that.

in Hugh’s looking for Microsoft’s next big idea on Scobleizer
Nice post Robert. I do not know about the future but I surely know that the present is in
Internet. I know Americans are not great fan of football (even you call it as
'Soccer') and World Cup Football 2006 hardly means anything to most Americans.
However, American companies are doing the best with this event. Official website
of World Cup Football had

1.2 billion page views in the first week of tournament
and there are still 3
weeks to go. In 2002 (the last time this competition took place) the total page
view for one month was 2 billion only. So, you can see the difference. In 2002,
no one knew about blogs and this time thousands of blog entries have been
written about World Cup Football.

I do not know why I can see a lot of bitter feeling against Robert here. Whatever Robert has accomplished, he has done it with hard work and dediction. Now, it is his day and let him enjoy it. Tomorrow your or my day may come too.
Anyaway, thanks for the link Robert. I found myself visible in that search (http://gada.be/d/razib-ahmed) and the result was far better than I expected. Does it mean anything?

Thanks Robert for this enrty. I hope that you do not forget about the power of New Media that you are promoting too quickly.
Yesterday I

wrote about you
in my blog entry:
"I feel that Robert Scoble's leaving Microsoft has literally taken blogging to the next stage. Scoble is talking about the power of new media in his blog and recently in a post he said, " Ballmer should not listen to his PR team and instead should live the blogging way." I have the same advice to the South Asian companies."
I know everyone is writing about you but just don't forget the power of grassroots.

in Gates steps down on Scobleizer
I am happy that Bill Gates is going to focus on charity works more. I am sure he can win over there too. However, I wonder if he is going to join Linux movement to give everyone a free operating system. Really, that can be a great charity work.

in Even Ballmer can’t get into Gnomedex… on Scobleizer
"A kid in Australia with five readers can become an international media story now just by writing something on his blog."
Exactly and Blog indeed is saving girl with rotting leg in China (Blog saves girl with rotting leg).

I am quoting here from that news:
"She had never used a computer before, and she had no idea what a blog was.

But it was this online innovation she knew nothing about that helped save her life.
..............................
Soaring medical costs made it impossible for her family to help her, even as her leg was decomposing. Hope seemed lost.

But because of a blogger, Li Guozhong, her story did not end there.

Li, an amateur photographer from Hunan, was the first to report Chen's condition on his blog on May 24.
............................................
Li could not bear to stand idle. Knowing he could not save the girl on his own, he resorted to the online blog he had just launched.

"Please lend this girl a hand," the 49-year-old office-bearer wrote. "Her left trouser leg was tucked up, revealing a piece of white bone from her knee to her ankle Fluid was seeping out. The air was stagnant with flies buzzing around I could hardly hold back my tears."
Li's article, together with a series of photos of the girl, triggered a wide response."
That's is the power of new media. Ignore it at your own peril.
Thanks Robert for your entry.

in Why Wall Street didn’t believe Steve Ballmer (and what he can do about it) on Scobleizer
Great post Robert. Yes, the grassroot is far bigger than even you can imagine. I am a blogger from Bangladesh- I wonder even if you heard the name of my country but here I am writing a comment in your blog. I know that most people who are commenting in your blog are from the west and very few are from Asia like me. However, the number of bloggers from Asia are increasing and the size of 'grassroot' people are increasing too. This is one area that Microsoft can explore as Asia is still an uncharterd territory.
The idea of PR Spin was Web 1.0. Now, we live in Web 2.0 and you Robert is a prime example of Web 2.0. I am sure Steve Ballmer will learn very fast and Microsoft will try to amend its way. If you remember, nearly 10 years ago, Microsoft failed totally to realize the value of Internet in the first place and then Bill Gates was forced to change his game plan about the course of the company.
The same thing is going to happen now. What is so interesting to me is that Microsoft failed to realize the potential of Web 1.0 in 1996 (failed to understand the potential of Internet) and in 2006 Microsoft is still to realize the potential of Web 2.0.
