Working in France for over 5 years, the last quote about malice v. incompetence came up too often. And the trend only picked up when Sarkozy began his run to power.

in How to use Twitter to find your next job. on LitmanLive
Great story, it's always fascinating to hear how people found jobs.
I blogged The Beginner’s Guide To Finding A Job With Twitter.
One follow up tip to what you say above- there are more and more twitter accounts being used to stream job listings. Don't follow them all; only follow the ones with relevant listings and use Twitter Search to generate RSS feeds on the job titles that interest you.

in Finding the Perfect Office Chair: Aeron vs. Swiss Ball vs. the FBI’s Pick… on The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss
If I had the chance to buy an Aeron for as low as $450, I would run, not walk, to buy it.
My philosophy is to always buy the best quality you can afford at the time. I'm not someone who likes to buy new things just for the sake of change; rather, I prefer to buy something I'll love and then keep it as long as I can.
Example: I bought a pair of brand-new Oakley Romeo sunglasses on eBay for $150 (think Tom Cruise in Mi:2) in 2000, while they cost $400 in stores. I'm *still* using them and loving them. There are less than 5 scratches on both lenses combined and none of them interfere with my vision (they're around the edges). Now, who wouldn't have paid $20 a year to wear these top-notch sunglasses that let me look *at* the sun?

in Feed Analytics Beta on AideRSS Blog
There are so many ways I'd like to see improvement over the current FeedBurner offering.
Some ideas:
1) Explode Reach: FB treated Reach as an afterthought; to me, Reach is more important the the raw subscriber numbers. I want to know who's reading content (for all that entails), how soon after it's published, via which reader/platform, how long they're spending on it and so on. Plus, I'd like to be able to compare over time.
2) Have a public API that allows us to get all our info and compare with others, making it easy to compile Top 100 bloggers lists based on any criteria being tracked.

Phan,
I respect Thaya and will probably even use his plugin for now (I like the timeout feature). I also understand his frustrations but frankly- welcome to opensource. If he doesn't like it, he shouldn't do it. Even if you didn't copy his code (which wouldn't bother me as long as his license is respected), I don't see any issue with being a better marketer and/or copying his new features. He of course can do the same back at you. Competing businesses play this game all the time, OSS just makes it much easier.
I think you're being very cool about this situation and you sound upstanding. Good for you. Keep doing your thing.

Amazing guy, that Nick. His terrific attitude means that he will almost surely live long enough to enter the bionic era when other people would have given up earlier.
He seized the day.

I love how the comments to these kinds of articles are filled with people from reputation tracking sites, but I take that as a good sign. That was what I expected and confirmed in my own reputation management bible:

TED is incredible, one of the sites I head towards when I feel like watching TV. This sounds just as a good albeit more from the angle of a personal experience as opposed to seminars and talks. I'm looking forward to the clip of yours, but it would also be cool to see you take some snapshots from other moments of the event.

Great list, but you can boil it down to this: use Twitter to reinforce your brand, whatever that means in your case.

I was glad to see the launch of Applications. This is one more step towards making LinkedIn profiles into the ideal virtual resume, because the Apps open up many possibilities for users to show their successes and expertise directly on their resume/profile.
I wrote a first review at launch time:

in How to Be a Successful Telecommuter on EmploymentDigest.net
#4 is a little off. Extra communication because a team member is telecommuting is a good way to build resentment. If anything *less* communication will make people appreciate the arrangement. How to have less? By using teamwork tools that track time passively so that it's very easy to verify if someone's working without interrupting them. Examples: source code control systems like Subversion, any wiki, etc.

Actually, I think the most interesting part of StumbleUpon's new features are still in beta. Stumbling is much more interesting if you have an account and use the toolbar, but the announcement about the toolbar also mentions how you can join the SU beta group and have access to a new site design which I like.

in Pimping Firefox: The Basics (Matt Mullenweg, Garrett Camp, and More) on The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss
Plugins I can't live without:
Add to Search Bar - you mentioned the FF search bar. Many people don't know you can stick any search into it whether it's Wikipedia or the search box here in the upper right hand corner.
All-in-one-gestures - use waves of the mouse to make FF do anything, easier on the wrist than without.
Drag de Go - assign different actions depending on which direction you drag *anything*
Flashblock - keeps your eyes from getting tired by blocking all the blinking Flash ads behind one click of your mouse.
IE Tab - for when a site STILL doesn't work properly in FF and needs Internet Explorer.
Screen grab! - for taking screenshots of what's in the browser window
Split browser - lets you split the browser window into multiple windows, perfect for blogging on the top half of the screen while checking information on the bottom.
Tab Mix Plus - take control of FF tabs.

Last post? Great way to mine suggestions :)
In your book, you mention that over 100 people are working for your company. I'd like to hear how you grew your company from 1 - you - to whatever it is today. Over course every situation is different, but it would be tremendously interesting to see how you got to where you are after the dust settled. Related - did you ever grow too fast and have to pull back?
