in Best Buy: Netbooks aren’t really laptops on Liliputing
I am using a 1000h as my main computer. I picked it up to use along side my large HP laptop, which is a core 2 with 3 gig or ram and all the trimmings, yet I find that I only am using the HP once or twice a week. I can run Word, Palm software, Outlook express, and firefox at the same time with no delay, and hook up to an external keyboard and monitor when I am in my office. So I would not say that the 1000h is an underpowered PC, instead I would say that my HP is overpowered. I just dont need that much processing power on a daily basis.

in Dell Inspiron 910 reviews, specifications and news. on UMPCPortal product database
16 gb is fine for installing an operating system, as well as an office suite. I have an Asus EEE 1000h and it works fine with an external hard drive/external DVD drive, and any of the netbooks will do this.
With regards to documents - it really depends on how you intend to use your machine. I use my 1000h as a lightweight replacement for a HP business laptop, which is possible due to its 80 gig hard drive. With 16 gig, this may be possible, it would depend on what type of documents would need to be carried. I would right-click on your "my documents" folder and see how big it is - if less than 3 gig, then maybe you could carry everything on this dell netbook, but if it is much bigger then it will not be possible.
No one has been all that excited about the Dell - an Acer Aspire seems to be what most people go for in the 9" range. They can be had with XP and a 120 gig hard drive for less than 500. If 9" is what you want, I would look at Acer. You can go to a circuit city and play with one in person, which is important. If you want something bigger, I would recommend waiting for the upcoming Asus 10 inch model N10. Its low end version will be reasonably priced, the keyboard looks really good, and it will be Asus' 4th or 5th netbook, so the design will most likely be fully worked out. The Asus 1000h is great, if you need something right now.
Liliputing.com is another website to look at to find out more about these netbooks. The field is getting rather crowded, Lenovo, HP, Acer, Dell, Asus, and more all getting in on the fun. But the ones that seem most highly rated are, as I mentioned above, the Acer Aspire One, Asus EEE 901 or 1000h, and the MSI Wind (as long as you buy one that has a good touchpad - some batches have cheap ones)
Good luck.

in HP 2133 6-cell batteries now available, cheaper than expected on Liliputing
The HP parts store and the rest of HP have different prices for parts - I found this out the hard way when ordering a second power brick for a laptop. The people at the parts store could not give a reason why their prices are higher than ordering directly from the HP website.
