Pure convenience I tell ya. And with the release of Jott's new features, such as Jott Links, You can do a LOT more than just text via voice. I'm so grateful that Jott is still a free service. Hell, I'd pay! I use it all the time!

Re: Playing with Jott: From voice to email, blog or twitter!

Kevin - I highly agree with you! Going beyond 30 seconds would be a major treat. However, Jott wouldn't be as fast. BUT, I'm sure the J team will or has figured it out. Strangely enough...30 seconds is surprisingly enough time for me to ramble my mouth haha.

Shady - You have the right idea! Jott is a great tool for brainstorming. Good luck with it!

Re: Playing with Jott: From voice to email, blog or twitter!

Oh yeah! But India isn't there only source. They have human transcribers here in the US as well! And other places, not just in India. From what I understand, when a Jott goes through, it hits the voice recognition, and if not fully transcribed, it then goes to humans. I like that for accuracy!

Re: Jott, a convenient voice-to-text service

First off...good to see jott users out there! Seems some here don't have much faith in it...but I'll clear some things up.

Security - yes...we all don't want some wack-o see, hearing, and typing our own messages be it personal or not. But you would think legal issues were first on their mind when this idea of "jott" came about. From my understanding, Jott has seemed to have the issue of privacy and security under control.

Yes...their are human transcribers that take your voice to email, text, etc...BUT they also have voice recognition software. They integrate both means to make transcription as clean as possible. haha and I noticed people scared of someone from "India reading and typing" their messages. Well the human transcribers are all over the place..not just India.

A reply to Greg's comment...You can tell your wife that it can be more than just "being lazy". Jott has many implementations. As for me, I use it for remembering guitar riffs when I don't have my guitar on me. And it helps especially when I'm in my car! I've heard of real estate agents using jott, for what...I forget haha.

Anywho, just wanted to clear up a few things people seemed to be concerned about with jott. Like I said...I've been a jotter for a while and it has brought nothing but goodness to me. Hope ya'll find some good use with Jott and don't feel guilty....YOU'RE NOT BEING LAZY! haha

Re: Thoughts on Jott

about the "silent treatment" ...that is interesting! Hopefully they will figure that one out! If they havn't yet! haha

Anywho, glad to see fellow jotters out there. I can see many implementations with this thing. As for me, I use it to remember music when I'm not at my guitar. I am forever forgetting my ideas! Kinda like how a carabeener helped me from always losing my keys hahahah. I've seen people who have integrated jott with their own personal blogs. Its really neat. I'm sure Jott has plans for business users as well. Lets just hope they don't charge an arm and a leg! haha

Re: Callwave.com

I'm loving the callwave spectrum of the voice to text realm. They seem to be coming out with some pretty neat stuff! There is a new one called.... Phonepage? I think... anyway...voice to text is awesome! Try out Jott as well (jott.com). With jott you dial their 1-877 number, say who you wanna jott, speak, then hang up! You can jott yourself, a friend, or a group of friends! Works well while driving especially. :)

Re: 2007/09/04/jott-features/

I'd have to second the "WHOA" there dep! I've heard of people integrating their Jott accounts with their google calendar, but I think this direct link to 30boxes with Jott surpasses that! Jott links is the teams best idea BY FAR. With Jott's offer for anyone to build their own Jott link, I can only see Jott growing from here. And oh man, Jott links with Live Journal!? I've been a Live Journal user since 2001! I can see Jott's popularity bar breaking! Great job Jott!

Re: 2007/09/05/snitter/

This seems pretty intriguing... does it work well with Jott?

Re: Jott

I think it's absolutely hilarious when Jott messes up a transcription. Some guy even made his own website that shows different people's "misjotts". I think it was funny haha. Lately, JOtt has been TO THE T with transcribing for me. Even proper nouns were nailed! I heard that Jott adapts with your voice over time. :)

Re: Killer app for cell phones: Jott

Wanderley: This is by no means a way to convince you to like Jott, BUT for those who are stumped with the question "why is jott so speacial?" I have found many uses with Jott ( for my self and what others have come up with). As for me, I use it as a musician tool. I am forever coming up with ideas for guitar riffs and when I get to my guitar, I FORGET IT! Jott has allowed me to, haha, sing to jott and I can listen to the audible version of it at home...because 99 percent of the time the transcriptions are just a bunch of blahblahs.

I've googled a guy that has integrated Jott with his personal blog and uses Jott to blog anywhere he may roam! However, the blogs are only 30 seconds worth, he seemed to get something on the go! Check it out... http://res.realestateshows.com/jott/.

Anywho... I'm sure one can find their own personal use for jott. Good to see jotters out there!

Re: S60 Voice Recorder - Suggestions

if you don't minds me asking, how long did you use Jott? Because I heard (and this may be very true) that the more you use Jott, the better the transcriptions are. I've been a jotter for a bit and at first it was odd...but now it nails proper nouns like it was nothin! Also, you should have the option to NOT receive the jott when you create one and just have it go to your email. Just a few things that should make your jott experience better....if it isn't over haha.

Re: S60 Voice Recorder - Suggestions

I believe voice recorder has become a forgotten app because it isn't as simple as what is out now. Many more steps are involved to extract a note from voice recorder into another app. Pretty much it just falls down to the word "convenience" ya know? That's how the cookie crumbles! haha
