I reuse baby food jars not only for snack sized foods and condiments, but to store beads and supplies for making jewelry.
I save and reuse any plastic bags I may get from the grocery store if I end buying more than will fit in my cloth bags, for cleaning out the cat litter, wastebaskets, or to use as stuffing for crafting projects like pillows.
Yes, I make pillows out of plastic bags...LOL
I store all of these plastic bags in a recycled 2 liter soda bottle that has the bottom cut off, and all the bags get stuffed in there, and are easy to grab one when I need it, because that bottle is tacked to the wall in my kitchen.
I make potholders out of recycled clothing that has worn out, and I also reuse dryer sheets by using them as fresheners in litter boxes and they are great for placing in cooking pots or pans if food is stuck on them.
Soak the pan in hot water with the dryer sheet for 20 minutes, the stuck on food comes right off!

Hey Andy, thanks for the link.
Yeah, the whole mommy blogger thing gets on my nerves.
I'm a stay at home mom, a single mom at that, but I have just as much traffic as the "big guys" who are slamming mommy bloggers.
They don't seem to realize that moms are the ideal way to market a product.
Why?
Because we ARE the consumers for our families, we ARE the ones who tell all of our friends and families if a product is good or not.
We have been doing word of mouth marketing since the dawn of time.
Those diapers any good? No, they suck.
Is that HDTV good, yes, it rock.
We buy and use more of the products that people sell more than any other sector.
There may be more men in the PPP system according tho those demographics, but the mommy bloggers are racking up the visits and hits.
Don't count us out as having only a handful of visits a month at all.

I'm very curious, as an atheist, what most Christians think of these types of movies.
I'm actually surprised but very glad that you went to see it, as there are some Christian groups here where I live boycotting it because of *how evil* this particular Joker is portrayed.

Anyway, I do hope that you post your review of the film, and whether or not you see it as just a film, or as a film with a message that may not be appropriate for your fellow Christians to watch.
Am I making sense?
I sometimes feel that people boycott movies without even seeing them, because they do have that battle between good and evil, and as you said, this Joker is the very face of evil.

I will patiently await your review and thoughts. I myself am waiting on seeing it for the crowds to die down just a bit. Standing in line for a couple of hours in the Florida heat to see a movie is not my idea of fun. LOL

That stuff is absolutely adorable! Girls always get cute stuff like this when they are little. Boys didn't have slumber parties, they had a friend or 2, sleep over, they didn't play pin the tail, or do hair and makeup, they played video games and had farting or burping contests all night..LOL

I totally know how you feel. I am so scared of either of my sons enlisting, and we get mailers here daily now from the Army, the Navy, National Guard, Marines, all of them, because he turns 18 in August, and they need more soldiers to go fight their war.

The National Guard has even started trying new ways to entice teens to just "check it out" by sending coupons or vouchers, for the movies.
If the teens go to the NG website and fill in all of the info, name, DOB, address and phone, and agree to meet with a recruiter, they will get 4 free movie tickets to go enjoy a movie with their friends.

The Army sends huge brochures about college and what they will pay for, all kinds of really awesome educational training in any field, all paid for, and even offering to give them $20,000 of spending money if they enlist, and it all seems so wrong to me.
The things they do to try and get kids to enlist and it works on so many of them.

They sign up with big dreams of getting that great college education, and end up going through basic and then shipped out right away to fight that damn war.
And like you, I see it on the news daily here, how many of our young men and women who had just finished basic, got shipped out, and were killed within the first 6 months of deployment.

I don't want my son to be one of them, but also like you, if he came to me and said that is what he wanted to do with his life, enlist and serve his country, I would support him 100%, I would respect his decision, but I would bawl my eyes out signing the papers, and I would probably cry every single day that he was in basic and deployed.
I'd probably be a nervous wreck every single day.

You're a good mom, you love him so much, you respect his choices, and you agreed to let him live his own life as he sees fit.
Let's have some hope that the war ends soon and they never have to be deployed.

I hadn't eaten KFC for many years, since I was a teenager I think, and when my sons and I had to spend a night in a strange town at a hotel because our flight left at an ungodly morning hour, we got hungry and went in search of a real meal, not vending machine crap.
There was a Walmart and a KFC in this podunk town, that was it.
So we bought a bucket and walked the 5 minutes back to the hotel room.

I looked in the bucket and it looked disgusting. I smelled it, it smelled like fish. I took one bite, and it also tasted like fish.
My sons couldn't eat it either after only a few bites, so we dumped it in the hallway dumpster so as not to stink up our room.
The next morning all 3 of us threw up.
Clearly rotten chicken.
At least we each only tossed that one time, we had an 8 hour flight ahead of us.

That was a year ago, and I haven't eaten their food again, and never will.
And now because of this post and information, it makes my resolve to never eat it again even stronger.

But if you ever want to see a good film about the beef industry, watch Fast Food Nation. The meat packing plant scenes were extremely hard to watch, and my consumption of beef has gone down drastically since.

Richard, I am not from SA, I am from the US. I actually had no idea you were all in SA until I started reading the comments, but anyway...

I am not a fan of the American based PETA organization because of some of their methods to get the word out on animal cruelty.
I think that finding out where wealthy women who may be wearing a fur coat will be, then showing up, and then either throwing blood all over the woman and coat, throwing buckets of cream on them or a bucket of paint, is not the way to go about spreading their message.
While wearing a fur coat is cruelty to animals, doing any of the things mentioned above is cruel to their fellow human beings. They place the lives of every animal above the lives of people.
They have even done some things that could have seriously injured the person they were after for wearing fur, like throwing a bucket of bleach on a woman once, could have very easily blinded the woman and scalded her face and throat permanently.

But the fact remains that chicken farms, heck, any farm/plant that raises an animal for consumption, takes drastic measures to insure the animal is large so it can produce a lot of meat but be in terrible health, and they all do process these animals for our consumption in ways which are very cruel and extremely tragic.

But it also remains that we people continue to eat meat, all kinds of meat, chicken, beef, pork, deer, moose, fish, and shellfish.
The only way to stop all of these cruel animal deaths, is to somehow get every single human being the entire world over, to stop eating all forms of meat at the same time and refuse to ever eat it again.

That will never happen.
And know how I know?
Because even knowing what the disease mad cow can do in humans, people still eat it the world over.
Bird flu? We still eat poultry?
Red tide? Oil spills? We still consume large quantities of sea life.

We may be able to take out one or two eateries like KFC by refusing to buy their brand, but we still have Chick fil-A, and a whole slew of other poultry specialized eateries to take their place.

I don't watch the show, but I don't think it really has anything to do with scoli other than Allan is a chiropractor.
They often give show episodes odd titles that don't really have anything to do with what is happening in it.

Perez Hilton is a totally despicable person, and a horrid blogger. 99.5% of what he posts is half-truths and the rest is some bullshit that he makes up and adds in and claims as facts. He bullies celebrities on his site.
There's being a celeb and gossip blogger, and then there's being a giant sack of disgusting filth.
I don't condone violence, but that punch he got was long, long overdue, and quite honestly, I'm totally surprised it hasn't happened more often.

Ignoring him will not make him go away, what will have an effect on him is to contact every single one of the advertisers on his site and tell them that you will boycott them and all of their products if they continue to advertise with him.
Hit him where it hurts, his wallet.
Rob Thomas had all of his ads pulled off of Hilton's site after a reader emailed All Access over Hilton describing 15 year old Dakota Fanning as a "ho".

If everyone contacted all of his advertisers and asked them to pull their ads because of the offensive content he posts or they will boycott them, he will lose all of his financial backing and possibly be forced to change his ways.
Maybe. It's worth a shot.
I've already emailed the advertisers I saw on there on Friday, and when a new one pops up, I'm going to email them too.

Exactly, that is exactly how I see it to be, best explanation I think I've ever read.

I also feel that as the recession gets worse, as natural disasters happen more often and are more catastrophic, that more and more of the religious, will be out there saying that this is all because we have turned our backs on god.
I see so many people blaming the troubled youth problem on the fact that religion has been taken out of our schools, that if we put it back, that magically, our kids will suddenly be better.

Sorry, that's not the problem with kids today.
The problem with kids today is that their parents are both working ong hours, or only one parent homes and they are working long hours, the kids have no adult supervision, and when the parents are home, they are so tired they don't want to discipline their kids, so they hand them money, tell them to go out with their friends, or plop them down in front of 300+ channels on cable and have completely stopped being parents.

If parents did their jobs, parent their children, kids might behave better.
It should not be up to the schools to teach our kids morality, it's our job as their parents to teach them morality.

Sorry, just went off for a minute there.
