in Tech Post #13: Notes on the New Purchase of an iPhone on banane
I just took the plunge via the price drop (weeks after buying a MacBook marking the switch from PC!)- and I love this fricking thing. I need to get my email situation straightened out- and other than a poor connection in my apartment (where I am always hooked into the University's network anyway) I have no complaints.
After getting an iPhone, I may never buy anything like it again.

I like being trapped in SF on a 3-day weekend!

You lucky, gloating %^&@!!!
Just kidding. Another great photo. When I write a book, you are taking the pictures. (I don't pay well).

You're on a roll!
As much as it stings to be staying in hotels in San Francisco these days (reinforces that I no longer live there) it is cool to get to survey them.
My recent stays:
The Argent (sucks, relatively speaking, very plain, soon to become a Westin).
Stanford Court (old and nice, less plain and less musty than Argent, definitely four star).
Hilton by Union Sqaure (very nice).
Best so far, though, Parc 55 (Amazing view of downtown, awesome room, and soon to break away from being Marriot, going indepedent).
Everything you never wanted to know about hotels in SF!!

Nice post.
Mostly, though, they wanted a backyard and more square footage for their money.
Why is this such a goal? I will never understand how that became so engrained in our society. Well, I study it, so I do understand it- there is a pretty logical history- but to become the mantra of a society. It is too much. Anyway, great post.

Stop sniveling!
Next time I am in town, if I see you walking out of a SUBWAY, I am going to run you over or make you sit in Ritual across from a cool person, sporting a laptop and iPod for a couple of hours.

Okay - now I gotta call you out on the proverbial carpet here. Did you say you at lunch at Subway today!? SUBWAY! GO back and read your post on MacWorld, he says with a smile!
Subway is trying to take over San Francisco. Their stated goal, at least was: one location for every 10,000 city residents. That is a lot. And if you look around downtown they are on their way.
Good luck on your cleansing or "recalibrating."
33 days untill my next SF trip - I schedule WAY too much time in between this time! Ahhh!

OK, you go to a conference in San Francisco, and you eat at the conference food kiosks. Why? Why? This is the land of good food!
They should have held the conference off until later in the year when the California Pizza Kitchen opens downtown. Now we're talking. Irvine's finest restaurant comes to San Francisco!
Is it February yet?

I enjoy "analyzing" sitemeter as well. Some wierd searches drive people to these blogs.
Hey- I could use your help. I love your banner and have been trying to get one to look that nice on my blog, but the self-help Websites only serve to confuse me. How can I blend a photo in so nicely?

Hello Anna-
If I could have found an email address for you, I would have sent this personally...
I recently moved to Irvine (to do my PhD at UC-Irvine) after living in San Francisco for seven years. I miss the city terribly. It is not that it is that bad here (okay, well it is Irvine, but it is better than I thought), but it is simply that San Francisco is one of a kind. I think I might be homesick if I was in Boston or New York, just in a different way.
Anyway, the point here... Your posts and pictures here and on the SF Metroblogging site both rip my heart out and make me feel great at the same time. You do a wonderful job of capturing what it is that makes San Francisco a place that it is easy to become bonded with.
