in Freecycle est aussi à Lausanne! on Climb to the Stars

Elle marche pas pour moi simplement pour une question de "workflow" -- c'est pas comme ça que je veux organiser mes cartes. Rien à voir avec la boîte qui est très bien, mais plutôt avec moi qui finalement ne veux pas une boîte :-)

in Retour de vacances on Climb to the Stars

Bonjour Guilhem!

in A couple more days offline on Climb to the Stars

It's actually a good two hours from one place to another (not a lot by world standards, I'll admit). 3/4 days would be too much moving around for me (and the cat), I think. For the moment, I've blocked at least one extended week-end (4-5 days) per month up there. If I manage to stick to that, it'll already be way better than what I've been doing for the last year!

in I Need to Blog More on Climb to the Stars

You have a good point, Xavier. Yes, I'm active -- but maybe not active in the way I prefer to be. One thing I'm understanding with all the "micro-content" applications sprouting all over the place is that conversation and writing are different. I'm having a lot of conversation, but I want more writing.

You're also right about the fact I probably need to bring into CTTS more of my "offshore" (;-)) activity. I'm not sure how, though. I already have daily "del.icio.us links" posts in the feed for CTTS, and really don't want to start having "tweet posts" or stuff like that. Still feeling around for a solution.

In the end, yes, I want to write more about what I'm thinking. Get the stuff out of my head. A lot of it is about blogging and social media, but not only (I guess I need to get a few things out of my system first).

Thanks for taking the time to comment.

in Hanging out with Creative Commons’ Joi Ito today on Scobleizer
I noticed that photographing the person talking definitely does not make for the best shots. People pull weird faces when they talk. And they're not still (if you're doing it no-flash).

People listening are usually a much better source of portraits, in my opinion.

in Advertising and hiring on Scobleizer
I don't personally mind about the ads as long as they're not blinking/popping.

However... does this mean that Scobleizer will no longer be your "personal" blog, and that other people will be writing in it too?

I personally think that would be a shame.

Ooh, I can't believe you hadn't heard of Lijit. I blogged about it months ago! (you should start reading my blog ;-))

I find three different entries and two different numbers for my blog. Add them? take the biggest? Confusing.

This is the kind of thing that brought me to http://www.reboot.dk/artefact-773-en.html and http://climbtothestars.org/archives/2007/03/25/... (with video of talk).

I hear you, Robert.

Particularly, take a look at my "country != language" slide in my reboot presentation.

I love that LIFT is "non-corporate" -- I think that's what helps it be what it is.

You should check out Bruno Giussani's notes on LIFT, they're much more readable than mine:

Ooh. You're also a bad Scoble who stopped using permalinks to point to posts, aren't you ;-)

(or maybe you didn't want the post, but just the video? hehe...)

in Stephanie in Switzerland talking about Lush bath products on Scobleizer
Hey Robert, thanks for the post! Looking forward to seeing you at Lift again ;-)

Lush do indeed make great gifts, and honestly, they're not that expensive when you look at what good-quality cosmetics usually cost.

FWIW, I'm not teaching anymore -- 100% bloggy consultant from now on!

If your interface doesn't make it easy to tag, try using the keotag tagger for that part. Agreed, you need to open it in a browser window. But you just type in your tags, copy-paste the result back in your post -- matter of seconds.

Take care :-)

in MySpace should buy this to protect kids on Scobleizer
How do you protect your kids from sexual predators offline?

I think that may be one of the best answers to keeping them safe online too.

Not commenting on how big/real the online predator threat really is. That's a whole other can of worms.

in Little duckies head to Flock on Scobleizer
Another thing that's worth saying about Flock is that they listen to what's being said on blogs. I've blogged about a few issues I've had with the browser and always got quick responses from their staff. So quick that I keep being the one who has to get back to them about something.
