Matthew,
thanks for giving BubbleShare a whirl!
I noticed from your public profile page that you had used the service 161 day ago from your first public photo.. wow, early adoptor huh? ;)
BTW: you shoud go and play with the caption bubbles and make some fun of your MeshMates like what I did at Mix here.
I'll try to put together an album of my own from my mesh photos as well..

For what its worth, I think Kris is amazing. I met him on various occasions, and I'm proud to say that I even had the opportunity to "sponsored" him to go to a couple of events (well, I sponsored one, and drove him to another since he didn't own a car, and I had my rental).
Kris is arguably one of the most amazing people I've met (and umm.. i guess that's actually means since its been well blogged now that I had lunch with BillG). You only THINK he's amazing because people have read about him. I met him. He is better than amazing. =)
However, what is important to point out is that while Zooomr has way more cool stuff than flickr in many ways, its important to note that Flickr had to pioneer a lof of the ground work that we take for granted. That's not to say that's its not amazing for Kris to pull of all that he has, regardless of age and resource. I want to make sure credit is given to the amazingly creative Flickr team that trail blazed a lot of the concepts we take for granted today.
Its my hope that we'll keep learning from each other's ideas (I have Kris on my IM list) and keeping each other on our respective toes. Its great to see all the competition and innovation. But at the end of the day, the “rivalry” I think is a healthy one -- and I for one look forward to Kris's further innovations. Kris is a great testament of how great software can be built by ONE person, and the benefit of "zero overhead" software development.

in Steve says “I shoulda been there”; gives me a “reality check” on Scobleizer
I missed this thread earlier. But I have to also say again a huge thank you to Robert. Lynda and Michael and many of the other attendees at the show I'm sure were far more "qualified" to be sitting at the table. But I thought it was nice of Robert to give this kid (me) a break. ;)
I thought it was quite ironic that I was probably the most MS aligned person at the table -- even though up until very recently, we have never shipped anything on MS tech (we're a Ruby on Rails shop). Esp. when you consider Mike was a WSGR attorney for Netscape (vs. MSFT), and Lynda is a very influential Flash supporter.
I don't know if this was purposely done, if I were looking in from the outside, Robert is setting a great example of how MS's culture is willing to "mix" it up with outsiders -- young and old, "jr." and "sr.," pro-MS or not, etc.
Another great example I thought of this theme I think was seen when we all saw a public, unscripted, Q&A with Tim O'Reilly.
Sure, skeptics can say all they want about the "Master PR strategy" of MSFT to put lipstick on the pig that is Microsoft. But there's no question in anyone's mind that in order for MSFT to survive and thrive in this new world, they will have to open up, and I think Robert and Bill and friends seems to be doing many of the right things towards moving in that direction.
Again, thanks for the opportunity Robert.

in Power Lunch on Scobleizer
Robert,
Thanks again for setting up the lunch.
Bill looked like he was eating on a diet. Poor guy didn't have any time to eat.
I also thought Bill did a great job of anwsering our questions, and was quite kind to sacrificed a great deal of our yummy lunch (a nice thick steak) in order to anwser our questions.
I hope to put some photos up on bubbleshare shortly now that I have power going back to my laptop. =)

Mike, we're happy to make things interoperable.
We have RSS out, and we have an upload API.
You want to make Flickr and BubbleShare interoperable... go mash it up yourself. ;)
We didn't build BubbleShare for Flickr users, we built it mostly for novice users, and first time photo sharers.
If there's any way you think we could make the service better, we're all ears. =)

I'm just being trolled into this one, but...
BigMac, find me a developer that can build bubbleshare in a couple of hours, and I will give him half the company.
Find me a student that can build BubbleShare in a day, and I will hire as many as you can find, and give you a 100% of their annual salary as a fee.
Jeneane, don't bother with Jake... he's obviously a flame baiting.

(yep, I'm too "passionate" for my own good i think...
i'm taking gonna take the bait... ;)
BigMac:
A laptop hard drive that stores and plays music, what’s so cool about that? (ipod)
A website that allow you to buy music, what’s so cool about that? (itunes)
A program that lets you use your computer like a telephone to talk to friends for free, whats so cool about that? (skype)
Before the Ipod was the Nomad. Before iTunes there were napster/real/emusic, etc. Before Skype there was DialPad, etc. (I recognized there is a difference in tech between some of the examples)
There's no way I'm going to even PRETEND that BubbleShare is half as cool as those revolutionary technologies. But what I will say is that, what makes those innovations cool -- and what makes BubbleShare, IMHO, "cool" -- is..
USER EXPERIENCE DESIGN (NOT JUST TECHNOLOGY)
We didn't set out to build BubbleShare to have the coolest technology around, and use every AJAX enabled special FX under the sun. It was about solving a problem. My mom and others like her had problems sharing photos with her family and friends. Existing solutions were confusing and frustrating for novices, with a variety of limitations due to a number of different reasons (business model, demographic/focus, etc.).
BubbleShare is all about providing a great user experience for those that are frustrated or simply can't fully grasp existing more complex solutions. First and foremost, we're hoping that computer novices, a category that dominates the majority of the internet population, can use BubbleShare to create, personalize and share their stories & digital assets as transparently and easily as possible.
FWIW, i dunno if we have a killer app (heck, I'd say we're far from it... well, at least with what's public today ;) .. but I'm happy to know that everyday we have folks telling us how much happier they are with the BubbleShare user experience than anything else they've used before.
i'm taking gonna take the bait... ;)

Microsoft Photo Story is super cool (IMHO: if you can look pass some of the interface issues). But its gone tons of great little features, and yes, its also free. =)
But then again:
(1) you'd have to download photo story
(2) install it
(3) run it, learn the UI, render the .WMV, and then
(4) find a way to host it, and then
(5) notify your friends of it somehow, after you've hosted it somewhere
Vs. BubbleShare:
(0) no registration required
(1) upload photos directly from the front page (and add voice captions directly via the web)
(2) forward the link we sent into your email box to friends (taking advantage of course, your email address book)
BTW: we also support multi-file batch uploads via Flash8 uploading for FireFox and Mac users, and ActiveX with Windows

Robert,
Didn't expect you to blog about us before we directly came to you. ;)
But thanks for the mention. BTW, the link you used was meant to be cut and pasted into your blog entry so that the photo album is intergrated inline with your blog.
Your or anyone else that wants to embedded/"Syndicate" a copy of the album (oh that word is just too smart for my fragile little mind ), just cut and paste this into your blog:
Or the proper link the the "big" version of the album would be Here
Or check out this example here Here
(Randy, , Thanks for the Pictures!)
