ROFL! Hey, give me a chance, will ya? It's been a really long time since I wrote something coherent and getting those three paras out at the beginning of this post already took me some time!
At least it's a start, no? :-P

Thank you for visiting and sharing your thoughts. While on some level I might agree with you, I believe one should call out to warn others if a huge truck is coming at the latter at 200mph.
I can't see how keeping mum and not warning the flock of such false teachers counts as love.
Anyhow, since you were researching Che Ahn, I hope this unloving post has given you some insight into this false teacher.

Dennis,
Thank you for sharing this with us. I noticed that you've posted a few repeats so I've removed them. I think you need to start your own blog to share the message. :-)
I'm going to close the comments section for this post now since it's way overdue.
Soli deo Gloria!

hi Kong Hee,
It's nice of you to pay a visit. I was part of the Navigators' teen ministry (or Navteens as they called it then) from 1983 - 1986. Perhaps I'd have met you in person before, seeing you're a senior from RI as well.
It'd be good to have a conversation with you, Kong Hee. I'm genuinely concerned about the teachings at your church, and the impact that it's having on many youths who flock to your church. I've watched your online services a few times, and am especially concerned about the lack of the preaching of the Gospel, and the over-emphasis on the health, wealth and prosperity message.

Lee,
Thanks for asking, brother, and the kind words. I've been kept very busy with a major project due in June which explains the long absence. I hope to be back on a more regular basis soon!
I haven't had much time to do research on Bonnke, but as with most healing ministries, I approach them with caution. Healings today bear no slight resemblance to those of our Lord Jesus Christ and His apostles -- whereas those healed by our Lord were completely healed, most healing ministries can only report either unsubstantiated claims or partial healings.
That said, I'm not sweeping under the rug all healing testimonies; I'm sure God is still working His miracles among the faithful, and to His glory, not of man's.

While your intentions may be good, I question your approach. In fact, I think you're losing the plot here.
I'll not allow a brother to attack another; in this case you have attacked Douglas by belittling him because of his age. By this time I believe you've already put your points across loud and clear so the ad hominem attack was totally uncalled for.
I believe I've been gracious enough to allow the exchange here for some time now, but this has (1) gone on too long, and (2) it's getting personal, to the point that I don't believe any brethren and sisters coming across this exchange will be edified.
Unless an apology is issued, rest assured that no further comments from you will be entertained on this blog.
Actually, you know what? I'd prefer if you'll take this on at your own blog (which you've never shared) from here on instead if you'd be so kind.
Shalom.

Dennis,
You seem most intent on proving your point. I have yet to find the time to go through your arguments (and, as you can plainly see, much less update my blog at the moment) so I'll reserve comment for now.
I've known Douglas a good while, and he's a young man of his words. Give him some time to get back to you.
RE: your opposition to Paul Washer's stand with Spurgeon that Calvinism is only a nickname for the true Gospel, and with the Canons of Dordt that arminianism is an unbiblical heresy, here's a little reminder for you: This blog and the blog's author, i.e. me, subscribe to the same position. :-)

Mainstream assumption? You assume too much, my friend. Perhaps some knowledge of hermeneutics will be helpful to you somewhat. Here's my question to you: do you read all books deciding from the start that it is decidedly literal or allegorical all the way through or is there room for some parts literal and some parts allegorical?
Is science your whole truth then? If so, you won't even know how we came to be because science itself doesn't have the answer! No, evolution is not a science. There are no observable proofs to say that it is, except for bone fragments from which scientists build hypothesis around. And, up till now, we haven't seen any shred of evidence of an evolving form.
My stand is this: the Bible is not a science book and it shouldn't be taken to be one. Instead, the Bible deals with what's more important than science -- the fate of one's soul for eternity. The account of the Creation is literal, and it tells us of the fall of man, and subsequently, why we, who inherit sin from Adam's fall, need a Savior who is Christ Jesus.

An allegory of... ? How else would you read the text, assuming that you have done so for yourself? May I then ask you which parts are allegorical and which parts literal in the entire account? If the account of Creation is allegorical, where does it become literal? When Cain murdered Abel, or... ?

Sis, I pray that the Lord will heal you completely emotionally. Our emotions and feelings are the hardest things to let go of, and it'll take time. Let the Lord work His good work in you; He will because He will finish the good work that He has started in you. Amen!
Thank you for the kind words, sis. I thank the Lord that the posts have been edifying to those who need the encouragement. The Lord works in mysterious ways, doesn't He? But, oh, such wonderful ways too!

Thank you very much for your input, sis. I haven't seen anything from Sherwood until this. What you described would have disturbed me too, and I'm thankful that Fireproof has proven to be "improved" from those.
I speculate that the "improvement" can be attributed to the involvement of folks like Kirk Cameron who would have frowned upon that form of Evangelicalism and those false promises. You said it better than I did -- we are in a world that is indeed incapable of discerning truth and entertainment, hence my concerns. In fact, at times I think much of Christianity has thrown discernment out the window altogether!
p.s. Thank you for adding my blog to your follow list. You're on my Google Reader as well. :-)

Thank you for the kind words, brother, and I'm glad that, like Rick, you are going to see the film even after reading my review!
Re: marriage, I agree with you. I was simply cautioning that becoming a Christian does not automatically mean that all one's problems, including marital ones, will go away. It does take work, but it has to be work based firmly upon the rock-solid foundation of Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
I said what I said in light of those who promise health, wealth and prosperity in their messages. Without clarification, it's dangerous to give that impression.

It's been a while since I've written a movie review (the last being eons ago when Netscape 2 was the browser of choice!) so I'm quite relieved you're still going to watch the movie!

Thank you, brother. Sorry, work has kept me away quite a bit, so my apologies for the late response. There're more changes afoot, but I'm going to keep mum on what they are for now. Expect another change (in the right direction, I hope!) come end-Jan or early Feb.
I look forward to discussing that with you. I will have to re-read it though, ha ha; it's been some time since.
