If the phone has the keypad and a hangup button on the handset, and if I smile broadly or laugh during the call, my cheek will hit the button and disconnect the call. The first AD660 was DOA out of the box; I tried several recent DVDs and it would play, then in a few minutes the screen went to snow or green, and the unit locked up. I had to power off to restart and got the same. Also during play it would change to a different language by itself. So, I returned the unit to Sams and they gave me another one. NO PROBLEM. The second player works without a hitch. I have not yet checked if it works on VCD or SVCD, but this is a MUST for me. I BOUGHT A 1 YEAR PARTS AND LABOR WARRANTY EXTENSION FROM SAMS FOR ONLY $5.00...WELL WORTH THE PEACE OF MIND.

Re: Batman Begins Hype Burnout

I just have to say, this is how Batman should be shown in the movies. You're a typical far left-wing crackpot. The unspoken truth about the fighting in Gaza, which began on December 19, 2008, when Hamas rockets broke a voluntary truce, is that this is the frontline of a much larger war. This war began 30 years ago with the Islamic Revolution in Iran and is now global in scope. Its agenda is the extermination of the Jews and the destruction of the West.
The Islamic terrorist organization Hamas makes no secret of this agenda. Its Egyptian founders and Palestinian inspirers were active followers of Adolf Hitler and enthusiasts of the Nazi Holocaust. The founding charter of Hamas, which promises that “Islam will obliterate Israel,” memorializes the Egyptian admirer of Hitler, Hassan al-Banna, as “the martyr…of blessed memory.” The same document contains the genocidal incitement of the Prophet Mohammed to “kill the Jews,” to hunt them down “until they hide behind the rocks and the trees, and the rocks and trees cry out ‘O Muslim, there is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him.’”

In 2006, these Islamic Nazis took possession of the Gaza Strip, which is unoccupied except by Hamas and is Jew-less (because the Palestinians would kill any Jews that moved in their state). Hamas has turned Gaza into a terrorist fortress, launching rockets into Israeli schoolyards, hospitals, and townships, and launching them from Palestinian schoolyards, hospitals, and townships to ensure that the maximum number of civilians – both Jews and Muslims – would die for their cause. They will win the Armageddon they are planning, they boast, because “the Jews love life and we love death.”

And all around the world, and across Europe and throughout the United States, Muslim and secular radicals are rallying to this Nazi cause, supporting Hamas and attacking Israel and the Jews. The unholy alliance formed by Muslim fanatics and socialist radicals is the face of the terrorist future in the West. It is a coalition for whom no party is so evil that it does not deserve aid and comfort if its enemies are Israel and the United States, and if it is willing to attack them.

The wars in the Middle East are the frontline of the Islamic Nazi offensive – a 60-year aggression of Muslim Arabs against the Jews, rationalized at each turn by epic lies that resonate with radicals in the West: that the Arab aggressors are the victims; that the Jews stole Arab land (Israel in fact was created out of the ruins of the Turkish empire); that there is a Palestinian entity that wants peace with the state of Israel (there is none – there is not a single Palestinian leader – who supports the existence of a Jewish state).

The Palestinians are the only people in history to have a majority support a national death cult, to worship the murderers of little children (including their own), and to proclaim the murderers saints and “martyrs.” The father of Palestinian Nationalism, Haj Amin al-Husseini, was an acolyte and ally of Hitler who preached the extermination of the Jews and planned to construct his own death camps for Jews in the Middle East. The miseries Palestinians have suffered are self-inflicted, the inevitable consequence of staking their national ambitions on the genocide of another people, while embracing a death cult for themselves.

Their allies in the West are either stupendously ignorant or morally blind.

Re: SharePoint MSDN Forums

Tony,

Hope I got close on where I should post this.

Am interested if there is possibly a Visual Studio 2005 version of the Sharepoint Accessibility solution posted @

http://tonybierman.blogspot.com/2008/07/quick-site-settings-adding-sub-menus-to.html

Need to start getting current, I know, will get vs2008 as soon as possible.

Re: http://rararawr.blogspot.com/2008/09/penelope.html

Ooohh..I will watch this movie because James McAvoy is in it!!! Man U WILL win and Chelsea will sink at the end of the season, and everything will be OK in the world.

Actually, whatever happens at the end of the season, ManU has made an important turn-around from the bumbling and uncertain start of the season. Comparing both teams, even the most ardent ManU hater/Chelsea supporter must admit that ManU play, without a doubt, the most attractive soccer in England. Barcelona is the only other team in Europe that could be said to surpass them. Once again, Fergie has ignored the talking heads and insta-pundits to choose the best coarse for the team. Evre and Vidic were the right buys, and the attacking trio of Rooney, Ruud, and Saha have devestated defenses. Chelsea are, by comparison, an updated version of George Graham's "1-0 to the Arsenal" team of the late 80s and 90s.

I can't wait to see who comes to ManU next season. Chelsea beware!!!!

Re: If Barcelona play Arsenal in the final…

Barca play essentially a 4-3-3 with Ronaldinho dropping off the front to pick up and play passes forward. The outside backs also like to get up into attack, and the midfielders are asked to make frequent and effective runs into the box. In short, they are designed to attack. The reason AC had so much trouble was not the awesome defense of Barca but the fact that they could never get their attack started cuz they were defending too much. That, and the fact that any Italian team is designed to win games by 1-0, meant that AC was not going to score loads of goals and pin Barca back in their own half. Arsenal, at least, have the potential to attack more than AC was able to.

However, in looking back at their campaign, they appeared suprisingly Italian in their preference for 1-0 wins: in the group stage they had 1.66 goals/game; in the knockout rounds they beat Madrid 1-0/0-0, juve 2-0/0-0, and Villareal 1-0/0-0. This gives them a 1.58 goals/game overall. Barca on the other hand had a 1.83 goals/game overall.

What does all this mean? Well, I feel that Arsenal will have to tighten up the midfield to choke any space for Deco/Ronaldinho to work. They need to exploit the attacking tendencies of the outside backs and play a wide game (especially with Henry operating on his favored left), and keep the ball away from the human vaccum cleaner, Puyol. They can count on Barca trying to open things up, and therefore leaving space on the counterattack. I think it will be either 3-0 Barca or 1-0 Arsenal.

Re: Veteran U.S. Soccer Writer Takes Aim At Premiership & Fox Soccer Channel

Gardner is a dope. What a fraud.

And since when is the number of goals scored the sole indicator of good soccer? I've seen some awesome 0-0 matches and some totally worthless 3-3 goal-fests. For my money (and I do pay for FSC, Gol TV, and Setanta) the Premier Lg. is the best with the most exciting matches and top teams. The only team that comes close to playing as scintilating at Man U right now is Barcelona.

Gardner can continue to watch the Bulgarian 2nd division for all I care. Hopefully the trend will be arrested - and quickly. I would implore anyone thinking of plonking down $25 for PPV or $20 cover to resist and send a message that soccer cannot become the next Ultimate Fighting Championship in the US. Here is a free one for all of you. When the water that comes out of the shower head goes down that hole in the thing your standing in, it's not gone forever. It's not like it turns into a gas and escapes our atmosphere, believe it or not it comes right back to you. Maybe in a glass of water you drink from the faucet, or maybe in that cup of coffee you drink every morning. Please go bitch about something that's really a problem, like all the extra electricity that's being used so tree hugging hippies can sit behind a computer and save the planet one post at a time.

Re: OhGizmo! » Archive » Change On The Horizon

Congrats and good luck.

Re: OhGizmo! » Archive » The Time Fountain Will Turn Back Time

It's cool. The proper way is to hold it with a towel and twist the cork until it comes off with a soft pop, not even a pop really, just a slight release of air. You want to keep as much bubble in the champagne as possible.

Re: OhGizmo! » Archive » Balisong Styled Concept Music Player

I'd buy one.

Re: Chopper Inspired Pizza Cutters

I want those with an engine

Re: TPW 30: Sprigman on Copyright

Someone (who hardly actually spoke) had a really bad case of the sniffles during this podcast. I can tell you I've tried to expand into news, columns, message boards, etc. but I've found 1) people are generally happier with my site when I stick to the basics: new releases lists and information directly related to them, 2) any message board I've started is virtually never used, and 3) any column I've been the sole host for has either been discontinued by the writer, or, like Newsarama, has moved on to a more important comic book site.

Re: POLL: Niche Comics Sites?

I'd like to see a bit more Previews-related stuff, like the cancelled comics list you used to post.

I can honestly say you are the first person who has ever said they read the canceled comics list. I like visual bandwidth. I use Lucida 7pt font and have 10 to 15 panes, “splits”, open at a time in an Emacs window on my desktop for a project, usually with 2 full height panes (100+ lines and 78 columns). On my laptop, it’s 8-10 panes for a project, with the same full height at 1440×900 in Lucida 6pt. A major project will normally have 50+ files/buffers loaded (source files, test inputs & outputs, notes, etc.). I will frequently spawn a temporary 2-pane window to do a complex copy-and-fill from a virtual list (each element embedded in text fragment) in one pane into a different sequence of text fragments in the second pane using a temporary recorded keystroke macro. All this has seemed easy to do in Emacs for years.

Each to his/her own taste, though.

Re: Four Kinds of Content to Consider for Your Web Content Strategy

Well, I've got 3 out of the 4 on MN Stories... and yes, it's one heckuva commitment! :-)

Re: Luna Oaks/Busy Ben Lottery

Oh, I'll come back if Ben is busy. If you totally rock the first testlet, the second testlet you receive will be more difficult. While it's totally subjective, you can kind of get an idea of how you are doing on the MCQ based on the difficulty between testlets. No change in difficulty doesn't mean you are doing poorly, it could simply mean you are comparable to other passing candidiates.

Re: Скажи мне, кто твой друг, и я скажу, кто ты!

Хорошенькое дело... Every bad thing that has happen to the Broncos over the years does not shadow this. I was not a big fan of his play but he was still in blue and orange and still part of the Broncos family. I have read all the comments about the game with the 49ers and how the Chefs are going to do something in the playoffs. On a normal day I think as a fan we could take all the ribbing, but for those of you who are not Broncos fans..lets bag it ok. We lost a member of our team. Both 49ers fans and Cheifs fans know what its like to loose a player. I would think that the fans of those teams would not like us beating up their teams after their losses, so show some respect and stop the crap. Good game 49ers and good luck Chiefs, now leave us to be and morn our losses. Go Broncos go #27. All the Bronconation is with you and RIP. Blue and Orange forever D. I don't usually do blogs, but, because of the selazy fans in Denver (I still remember you all throwing bottles and crap at our players as they left the field), I couldn't resist giving a little back. I'm going to enjoy my bar-b-que Sunday and watch the Chiefs play, win or lose. Our head coach is worse than yours. Our general manager is a joke. Our young quarterback is unproven and yours is stupid. Our offense is going to slide like an avalance into oblivion under Herm Edwards. Pound on me all you want. I'm embarrased to be a Chiefs fan. Half our team wants to leave. Thank your lucky stars you got Elway in your lifetime. We are so smart, we could have had Elway but took Todd Blackledge and we could have had Emmit Smith as well. I'll take Arrowhead for a party any day, but until the Chiefs get rid of Carl Peterson, we won't ever be anything but a joke. So there you go. Have fun with it and we'll see which of these two dumb teams are worse next year.

Re: Giving Credit Where Credit Is Due

Isn't Justin Bieber signed to Usher? You're probably aware of hybrid cars because they've been in the news a lot. Most automobile manufacturers have announced plans to manufacture their own versions. The Prius is the best-selling gas-electric hybrid vehicle in the United States and the world. For 2006, Prius adds several styling, safety and convenience enhancements, further increasing its overall value. But it's also a fact that Ford has already revealed its plan of introducing the Mariner CUV hybrid for its Mercury brand this year, read more here...Auto Parts for American Car Lovers.

Re: Sweden Raises The Renewable Energy Bar

Will Sweden succeed in reducing their oil consumption to zero by 2020? It is entirely possible to build a house that use $100 a year to heat or cool it. The technology has existed for about 30 years. It is called Superinsulation. Using oil to produce electricity could be reduced greatly by using nuclear energy. France uses nuclear to produce about 80% of their electriciy. Liquid fuels should be reserved for transportation. Hybrid cars can cut oil consumption by about 50%, this is existing technology and in use today. Most people travel less than 50 miles a day and a hybrid car with extra batteries could travel about 25 miles on just battery power.

The cost of oil has been going up for many years. Just prior to WW II a barrel of oil was selling for between 15 cents and $1.00. By the end of the war it was $2.00 a barrel. The price continued to be $2.00 a barrel until the OPEC oil embargo of the 1970s. Then the price went to about $12.00. It is now about $65.00 a barrel. That means that the price has increased by about 6500% in about 60 years. Another increase of this amount would mean that a barrel of oil will be in excess of $3600. When that happens, most consumption of oil will be extremely limited. I do not beleive that the average person will have an increase in their income of 6500%. The Age of Oil is drawing to an end and we can either try to find a way to live without it or be prepared to fight many more wars for it.

Re: Instant Survey: Fast Food Nations

I can stay away from fast food at home but when travelling I usually don't have time to eat in a restaurant or pack a lunch and the convenience of fast food is just too much to bear. For every pound I lose, I'll heat my house for a month in energy savings when driving!

This was a fun post. Makes you at least think. I believe if we all learn some of this stuff, it could help with our carbon footprint. For example, my son's girlfriend drives a stick. She thought that, on a highway, speeding up to 70, then going into neutral and rolling until down to 45, then doing it again, would save gas because she's "not using gas while in neutral." Of course, the gas use from acceleration is much worse than the gas use while maintaining speed, so she was getting the opposite result from what she intended.

There's a good article to research - the best ways to drive to save gas.

Re: Massive 75,000 Acre California Wildfire Caused by Marijuana Farm

Great idea! The puppy was not at fault. It may have done it, but more than likely it was playing. Puppies have razor sharp teeth at that age, and babies at that age are real fragile. It wouldn't take much to cut an artery. Why the baby and puppy were left alone and the people in the house didn't heard screaming, is the story and the crime. The parents and grandparents in the house had better be held accountable for their actions.

"Dog Mauls Baby" makes it sound like a pack of wild dogs had at it. The journalist sneed to report the story accurately, and it was an accident caused by irresponsible humans in the house. "Parents and Grandparents Ignore Screaming Baby as it Dies" is the proper headline.

Re: http://www.crimene.ws/2008/03/3-teens-arrested-in-deland-middle.html

Trench, I def hear what you're saying...as I've always said, kids @ that age tend to be real little shits, something I found out firsthand. Think of it this way. When photography first hit the scene, it was disputed that it was art because all the photographer did was take a picture of the world. There was no labor involved in painting or finding the right canvas. It was that type of ignorance that stifled what photography really is; a infinitely crediable art. Your work has potential. And I ask you, would you rather have submitted nothing at all? How much of a chance would you have then?

Re: http://the-bob-blog.blogspot.com/2007/03/im-loving-google-earth.html

Simply... wow.

Re: http://the-bob-blog.blogspot.com/2007/02/im-addicted-to-creating-websites.html

Children children calm.

I like the notice at the bottom. They have telnet/shell access and all the other things you asked for, and they keep adding more features, expanding the amount of disk space and bandwidth allowed per account, without raising the prices. Check them out.

Re: The two week mark

I'll chime in with "give it time" advice as well. When I moved to Los Angeles -- another megalopolis -- I was 20 years old and had rarely set foot outside Louisiana except for summer vacations. It took a little while for me to get my bearings and meet people; in fact, it was probably a few months at least before things got fabulous. You'll get there.

Re: Hello New York

"New Yawk, just like I pictured it! I covered a call on a berserk boyfriend reported as a bad reaction to hallucinogenic mushrooms (pure placebo effect from culinary 'shrooms bought for $12.50/lb at the Chinese grocer, sold at $20/gram) and and obscene quantity of bourbon. The charming fellow decked on of the paramedics, a small woman. In the ambulance there were no premeasured doses of ipacac. As the previously decked gal poured a dose into a disposable cup, the fool on the stretcher grabbed and chugged the nearly full liter bottle. No one interfered. Two paramedics, six cops, two security officers, three or four resident advisors, and the dean. No one...< />< />That is still one of my personal top ten examples of karmic justice.

Re: Idle Observations From This Afternoon:

Ross beat me to the Aguila powderless, true CB (conical bullet,)recommendation. If you can find it (I have not seen any for several years,) try the standard Colibri rather than the Super Colibri. Colibri is cataloged as yielding 375fps to Super Colibri's 500fps and is air gun quiet in my Ruger 77/22. Both come with warnings against use in rifles for fear that the primer will not get the bullet all the way out of the barrel, but I have used both in my Ruger's 19 inch barrel and my honorary nephew's Savage MkII with it's 20.75 inch barrel without cause for concern.

While smaller hands can manage the Ruger MkII, I would look hard at the Ruger Bearcat and S&W Model 63.

Oh, and BTW, too cute by half.h
