When you get a chance (maybe right now) pray that God would give me the strength and patience to be a great husband.

I'd love some prayer in the area of being a better spiritual leader.

"I don't think they are the budget draining factors here."
So 44.5% of the budget isn't 'draining' ?
You are an idiot.

It's funny how this idiot doesn't say ONE word about the school budget. Both the FD and PD budgets combine for only about 10% of the total budget, while the schools are over 50%. His words expose his true intentions. Other having a big mouth and a stupid, moronic cable show, he has absolutely no credibility in my opinion.

Schools typically would represent a much larger portion of any city's budget, would they not? Teaching positions have gone unfilled, school libraries have been shut down, class sizes have gotten larger and teachers have waited years for a tiny raise. The schools have felt the pain. That obviously not sick firefighters would call in to watch superbowl and put thousands of people's lives at risk says it all for me. I agree with Mr. Baird 1000 %. And many others do too--unless they work for the fire dept or have a family member who does. I do believe that not all of our firemen behave in a way that is that unconscionable--and I have seen neighbors who are police put their life on the life to make life better for us here. I have total respect for them. That isn't the issue here.

It is commentry and opionions like this that has gloucester in the shape it is in. I had a family of 5 living in Gloucester, I wrote to the then Mayor Bell expressing my concerns. His response was "If you don't like it then move out" which is exactly what I did. I moved to Ipswich, my children went from troublemakers in school to honor students. Thanks for the advice Mr Bell. It worked out ver ywell for me. I suggest instead of finger pointing like mr taxpayer here, that the people still living in Gloucester get off of the blog boards and take ownership of your town. Or you can keep on whinning here ...

FYI - The School budget is 44.5% of the overall general fund budget. JG

It might be just me because I am not 12 but I don't get the attraction. You're playing a 1998 version of SIM with cheezy bad graphics. Why would you want to waste your time on this site when there's video,IM,and real pics via YouTube,MySpace,Meebo. I can imagine that it's popular in Asia because those kids are really into anime and their culture breeds extremely shy kids who prefer to hide behind avatars while interacting online.

It's as if the name of the game IS to get seed money. It's not about creating a service with a business model that will result in profitability. As long as you can issue the coveted, "BlahBlah has recieved seed money from a VC" , then you have succeeded.
I would say 75% of these web 2.0 sites that have funding will never recoup a dime for the investors...but hey, so what, right?
StyleHive has 2,000 members since launching months ago. 2,000 members = 3 million in funding? wtf?

social networking and job search are polar opposites. left brain right brain. at it's core, it's just another job search site. adding social networking and web 2.0 bells and whistles around it doesn't change that fact. It's competing against an established market. good luck to it, but i'm a sceptic.

you got to be kidding me. 100 million market cap for a company that provides canned social networking tools? let's be honest, the VCs have a lot of money with no place to invest it.
