Such a small increase. This is great news, But wait a minute I don't see anything in the article from the mayor or aldermen that says the city will re-assess my property to reflect current market value. I'm sure that the value of my house has dropped by thousands of dollars over the past year. The city has my property currently assessed at $268,000 but I'm seeing homes of similar make-up selling for much less. If they are sold, does the city re-adjust the value? Or is it just re-adjusted when the selling price is higher? One has to wonder. Maybe I should just sell my house now so the new owners can get a much greater tax break.

Why doesn't this surprise me? It's amazing that there isn't more accidents at that location. When the highway was expanded, it was quite evident to motorists who travel that highway every day that the distance between exits 6 & 7 were inadequate. And there is very little speed enforcement on the turnpike. Most cars are doing 70 or 80 out there even though the speed limit is posted at 65.

We have power back in our neighborhood but now the phone system is down.

I still don't understand the logic of PSNH in some cases. In my area which is Lincoln Park off Broad Street 90% of the streets were back online by 2pm on Friday. Broad St. has lights, the Nashua mall is all lit up. But, as of last night Greenlay St. which is populated by at least 80% of elderly homeowners, still had no power. The street was never closed and appears to have some debris but no down trees or poles. Also parts of Denise St. appeared to be dark. It's almost like they're on a dark island surrounded with people with lights. One has to wonder why.

I was writing a comment and the thing went crazy on me. Not sure what the heck happened. But I did get a PCH pop up add. What the hey? Any way Mike, I liked your column this week. When you say "Even though I'm well younger than 62 years old, this came as a "senior offer" from Time" I have to wonder about that. As I read the column I kept thinking that you have morphed into Andy Rooney. I could swear he said the same things not too long ago on 60 minutes. And he's like at least 80 or 90 years old.

I like your option #3 but would also suggest that you add a comment that X amount of very similar letters were received in the past week. If space allows you could also add the names of those who submitted letters of the same ilk. Obviously these people subscribe to political email lists and may not even be reading the whole message and just forwarding it along because they trust the source.
