Dear Listeners - just a wee word from me, Gareth - to say thanks for all the kindnesses you offer us. Now that we are being proposed free accommodation I am even happier to be engaged in this endeavour of what may become a life-long conversation about movies.

Hello Listener - re: Be Kind Rewind - I agree with Tom - it's a delicate little film whose marketing implied something other - I REALLY wanted to see the film that they advertised. But I liked enough of it to go back and revisit at some point, now that I know what to expect.

Dear me - all I can say is that the scene works perfectly for me in the context of the film; it's a rare example in movies where a piece of music is actually the one playing in the character's head when we hear it. I'm still a fan and friend of the Maestro, but I think this film deserves a first look.

just wished to intervene in the midst of the rumblings about my alleged disdain for mr hitchcock...i refer the listener with respect to what i actually said on the last episode...which was merely to pose a question, not to make a statement...all the points about alfred being taken more seriously after his death (or by the french critical community while he was alive) implying that m night might effect the same response seem entirely valid to me. dear listener (and dear co-host), i trust that you will forgive any potentially blasphemous outpouring against mr hitchcock, and allow for the elegance of language to sometimes run the risk of obscuring the truth.

for what it's worth, i see 'vertigo' every time it screens in belfast.

can i just inform the listener that it is 8.30 in the morning, i've already been up for three hours, i'm about to make an omelette, and i'm watching 'the color of money'.

tom cruise's real nose gives the best performance of its all too short life.
