I had no idea that blogs are popular there as well. I am also glad to have cross your blog :)

Stumbled for great content!

Re: The Big Bang Theory of Launching a Product

Ben,

The iterative process is usually driven by a software methodology that does always align well with marketing and business goals. You outlined an excellent strategy to get both software and marketing teams on the same page.

Re: http://www.instigatorblog.com/startups-need-more-practical-guidance-not-fluff/2008/11/21/

Ben, excellent content as usual without any fluff.

We tried to raise capital two years ago and in all honesty got overwhelmed with the process and the time investment it required. It seemed we either grow our practice or spend the time to raise money to grow our business. The more VS I spoke with, i discovered that raising capital for a consulting firm is more difficult than raising capital for a software company.

I am not sure if the timing is right now but I am thinking of taking a 2nd look at raising capital.

Re: What Becomes a Small Business Brand?

Hi John,

Excellent post. I think many small business owners are so focused on their day to day business that many times they lose sight of the big picture. I have to make a call in couple of hours to a customer who was not happy with some of the results he received from us. Although we invested so much time and effort into his work. After reading this post, I am even more motivated to go out of my way to make sure that he is satisfied with. Every action is a step towards building a brand.

Khalid

Re: The Subtle Art of Linkbaiting

Nice write up Chris. But really at this point don't you think that everyone can smell the slightest hint of link bait? Each of the points above is a great way to create good link bait. Add brilliant content to the formula and you will have a ton of links.

Re: Define a Social Media System for Yourself

wow, 700 blog subscriptions? To be honest I am not satisfied with blog search functionality until now. Neither Google nor technorati do a good job at it. I understand that Technorati uses the time stamp to return results. But Google's relevance algorithm is not working for blog search if you ask me.

Re: FeedBurner Pro Goes Free for All

It is sort of funny to look back at all the people who were very worried when Google acquired feedburner. Call Your SEO Expert First!

Lee, great post idea. We are dealing with the same issue right now with one of our clients. After the the client completed a new design and its implementation, they are asking us to evaluate the site from conversion optimization perspective. Any suggestions we give them at this point translate into rework and lost time.

Many companies miss the need to involve SEO and Conversion optimization firms in the initial stages of any redesign work. These are areas of practice can no longer be an after thought. I do think part of the reason we are not invited to the initial stages of redesign is due to ignorance on the part of some clients. But another important part is the resistance of technical teams to involve someone else in redesign work.

Ps- isn't twitter great? I was notified that you just published this post and jumped here right away. I think it is replacing my Google reader!
