When I was in Vegas I went to the Crown and Anchor Pub to watch matches. It's a proper pub with pints of the good stuff to be had and football on the telly.

UEFA already does some Champions Leagues games on a pay-per-view basis. I've not tried the service as I just wait and watch the match a couple of hours later with my "basic" subscription. It's $10 a game I think, compared to the $40 I pay for the entire season.

I don't think it will be Mourinho. He wants to coach Portugal down the road in his career. At this point I think he'll jump back into a club setup somewhere in Spain. However, it's Jose and you never know what that chap is going to do next.


Hiddink turned down England once already and I don't think much has happened to make him change his mind should they approach him again. I rate him very highly as a manager and England are unfortunate to not have signed him.



Capello or Lippi are both good candidates. You would imagine they could handle the media scrutiny as coaching in Italy is pretty tough as well.



O'Neill has done OK for himself at club level and is an intelligent and frank speaker.



I would think the FA will go with someone who has experience in getting a country qualified for a major international or European tournament so could rule out quite a few names right away.

It's too bad Canada's mens team can't get their act together. It would be interesting to see DeRosario compete at the international level.

I'd give a plug for the 6-0-6 download...it's great to hear the fans calling in and giving their two cents though Tim Lovejoy is not always easy to tolerate.

How many of those purchases were really Jol's choice? Don't forget that he had a Sporting Director above him. Damien Comolli is likely the one making those deals.

Ohh and apparently the rumour now is that Sevilla coach Juande Ramos has agreed to become Spurs' new manager at the start of next season.

Gaffer, The BBC is reporting that Tottenham have issued a statement confirming that Jol had been sacked, along with first-team coach Chris Hughton, ending a reign of nearly three years.


Jol was on the sidelines for the Getafe match.

Harry Redknapp had a comment on the state of English talent the other day. It's not the entire answer but it is another aspect which has not been given much press.


The Portsmouth boss recalled how he used to kick a ball in the street until it got dark during his childhood, adding: 'Now I rarely see a kickabout in the park. All I see are the dazzling lights of bedroom windows from the glare of TVs and computers. It seems football cannot compete with an Xbox.'

Technically, I guess he's on loan but I think Aston Villa will want to make it permanent. Davies was stellar for West Brom in their relegation season and I think he'll be a top centre-back in the league in the next couple of years.

Jose at ManUtd? That would be great is Sir Alex stepped down but I still don't see him doing that anytime soon.


The hot rumour is that he'll be taking over as head coach of Portugal.

I agree with you. I'd love to see some change in the top four and I am a long-time Man United fan as you know. The EPL "title race" is often a bit dull, especially when you consider what was happening in La Liga at the end of last season with several clubs in the hunt right to the end.

6-0-6 is a blast to listen to...you get to hear from the fans driving back from the games...brings some of the atmosphere home. Sometimes there's a bit too much whinging about "the chairman's not spending money" but that comes with the territory.


Does anyone else find the ESPN podcast a little dry?

If Serioux is let go perhaps Toronto FC can sign him. He's Canadian and they could use the experience at the back.

You beat me to it! I've posted my thoughts on the match anyways but I do agree with you that this match was better than any of the EPL matches this weeekend. The ManUtd - Spurs game was entertaining but only in bursts.

I just read a report that Fowler will bank a tidy £800,000 bonus if he can help secure Premier League football for Cardiff City. That could be the proper motivation for him :)

I wasn't a huge fan of the old theme but it grew on me over time. This seems like a step backward. I wish they would have gone for something more energetic and uptempo. This song reminds me of the dour 0-0 Wigan-Fulham match from March where everyone was content to stroll along and have a la-di-da olde tyme of punting it long.
