in The Technology Liberation Front » Archive » REAL ID Deadline Passes - Zero Compliance on The Technology Liberation Front
Good article, but Blake falls prey to a key REAL ID fallacy - that REAL ID was somehow called for by the 911 commission. They did no such thing, and there are many ways to skin the cat suggested by that commission (who, at the end of the day, just offered their opinion. Based on those on the commission who are now trying to make money off of all of this, I tend to think of many of those members in the same vein I think of the OJ Simpson jurors). REAL ID is the wrong way to skin this cat. I'll leave it up to readers to determine which REAL ID lobbyist is most similar to Kato Kalin.

Blake also fails to pick up on the fact that many people in border states now know, which is that they have taken REAL ID, repackaged it as an 'enhanced' drivers license under WHTI, and are continuing to (successfully) push it that way. These cards are obstensibly needed for border crossing only, but as REAL ID fails you will see laws introduced to make EDLs necessary for domestic travel, getting a job, buying a gun, and all the fun things under REAL ID. The bonus for those who value liberty is that WHTI already mandates RFID, whereas that was being put off for the 'second phase' under REAL ID.

On the face of it Tasmania was a good guess, but in reality I guess it's as about as far from Darwin as here (yep England) is from Nigeria.

Anyway.
Maybe you might like this. Add-on for FireFox called StumbleUpon, sort of browses interesting pages at random.

And I have not, as yet, managed to stumble upon Microsoft.com

Hope it's all working well Sarah.
Don't worry, that's not my time either, it's 12 midday here now. You must be in Tasmania or something?

Ok...
So I was loading IE7... and it crashed after loading every single web page. So. Loaded with the extensions off (that's command line 'iexplore.exe -extoff') then changed the internet options and put the security level down from medium-high to medium.

Now. No crashes. Not that I'm going to use IE anyway, but I'd prefer to have a working copy.

Sarah? Do you mean Firefox?
this is a link to the Windows executable:
http://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-2....

If this link stops halfway then there are plenty of other places you can get it, just Google search for "Firefox Setup 2.0.0.1.exe" sure you'll find it.
