I didn't find it the 1st time 2 days ago. Also, it looks like it needs a math lesson as it said one choice had 100% with 3 votes and another had 33% with 1. Huh?

BTW, I installed that link checking plug-in you mentioned a few weeks back a couple of days ago and so far it has found 697 broken links. Gah!

Re: Applying new lipstick on an old pig

I was a tad excited about those persistent URLS until I actually saw my first. They are about as ugly as a URL to a page on the ALA site. And who in their right mind would ever consider typing one?

Re: Losing librarianship?

Steve, here's one that might be relevant to you: http://www.daniel-lemire.com/blog/

Also have another in mind but can't think of it at the moment. Will try to come back and suggest it if/when I remember.

Try not to think of it as losing librarianship but as helping to bring us into the world of search and taxonomy; you know, where we "supposedly" are.

Re: Losing librarianship?

Ah yes, here's the other one: http://thenoisychannel.com/ The Noisy Channel by the "chief scientist" at Endeca. Some good stuff now and again.
