in Losing librarianship? on Family Man Librarian
Ah yes, here's the other one: http://thenoisychannel.com/ The Noisy Channel by the "chief scientist" at Endeca. Some good stuff now and again.

in Losing librarianship? on Family Man Librarian
Steve, here's one that might be relevant to you: http://www.daniel-lemire.com/blog/
Also have another in mind but can't think of it at the moment. Will try to come back and suggest it if/when I remember.
Try not to think of it as losing librarianship but as helping to bring us into the world of search and taxonomy; you know, where we "supposedly" are.

in Applying new lipstick on an old pig on Family Man Librarian
I was a tad excited about those persistent URLS until I actually saw my first. They are about as ugly as a URL to a page on the ALA site. And who in their right mind would ever consider typing one?

in Poll: What motivates you to comment on a post (or not)? on Family Man Librarian
You might want to mention that it is only available on the main page, not the post page. I didn't find it the 1st time 2 days ago. Also, it looks like it needs a math lesson as it said one choice had 100% with 3 votes and another had 33% with 1. Huh?
BTW, I installed that link checking plug-in you mentioned a few weeks back a couple of days ago and so far it has found 697 broken links. Gah!

Mark,
Thanks; you'd think I'd realize this after having blogged for a while now.
But I didn't. Doh! Glad you used the link checker. I've winnowed mine down
to about 30-40 broken links.

Great! Thanks for passing this along. And for the words of encouragement.
It's kinda weird; I've worried that I'm losing where I came from. On the
other hand I enjoy bringing librarianship into my new area of work because
frankly it desperately needs it...
