Obviously we have a lot of work to do in this area. The only bright spot I suppose is that we are ahead of Louisiana and Mississippi.
It always amazes me how these Governmental Education "Experts" expect our children to be on top of their game in school when their basic needs aren't being met. Those of us with middle class backgrounds cannot comprehend just what some of these kids are dealing with outside of the school setting. If a little kid is worrying about their next meal or their safety - there won't be much going on as far as learning.
