We're a lot alike.. I definitely go through phases and love pretty much any kind of music. As far as my playlist de' jour? I recently discovered eMusic.com and I'm downloading little-known artists like mad. A few current favorite eMusic plays are:

Friendly Fires (self-titled)
Ra Ra Riot - The Rhumb Line
The Epochs (self-titled)

Definitely agree with City's list above too. The new Charlie Hall is amazing!

I've seen them twice and followed them prior to their major label review and these teaser videos have me STOKED!! Every time I watch this video I am blown away by the innovation of the band. I can't wait to hear the finished product soon!

I think the other band felt they had to justify themselves simply because they saw the crowd participating in your worship. They probably wanted to precursor themselves knowing that they might not get the same response. Which really is only natural not knowing the audience you're playing to. If you knew that the audience wasn't going to critique a set as "god" vs "fun" a performer would never have to say a word. It's the dualistic mindset that we have as humans that makes us feel we have to justify things now and then. (By dualistic I mean things/actions are either spiritual or carnal, good or bad and there's no mixing the two.)

Same thing happened to me a few days ago.... Was totally out of the loop on that one! He'll be missed for sure.

Yea granted I've never lived through it or can relate personally but some of the language is pretty "weird". I certainly don't agree with somebody purposefully conspiring to "pirate" a group of people to start a church. But he just really sounds insecure about something that is God's to begin with.

Yea I started reading the first couple chapters (gotta finish it soon) and love it so far!
