in Oh And Obama Won Texas Officially BTW on Jack and Jill Politics
In the UK, Americans voted in the primary two-to-one for Obama. I believe that is an understatement. Hillary supporters appear to hang in there, but Obama seems to have nearly universal support from British people. Everywhere I go with my Obama button, people want to talk and to tell me how great it would be if he were our President.
It appears that Obama won Texas. He might have won officially in both Texas and Ohio, had these states not permitted Republicans to vote for Democratic candidates. That is so ridiculous, particularly seen from an overseas point of view.

in Senators Keep Horses on the Menu on The Colorado Independent
clarification Chris, it's not the eating or not eating of horsemeat that is the focus of the legislation before Congress. The issues that the legislation is designed to correct are the cruel treatment of the animals during transport to auction and slaughter and the unquestionably inhumane conditions during the slaughter process.

in Senators Keep Horses on the Menu on The Colorado Independent
The real reason for low horse prices BUC, it's easy to hide behind the same old pro-slaughter arguments and refuse to include facts in the decision-making process. Of course, many horse owners are running scared. They have reason to. Poor management practices by careless backyard breeders, racing operations, and huge breed organizations have produced too many horses. The glut of horses is the cause of so many horses going to slaughter. The over production of horses is the cause for their drop in value, not closing the plants. People are using the closing of the plants and those that support the closing as scape goats for their frustration that an easy, cheap way to dump their unwanted horses has become more difficult. Yes, the disposal of unwanted horses has become a national problem. However, continuing the cruel, unnecessary practice of transport to slaughter houses, and either not caring or pretending that it does not exist, will not solve the basic problem. Americans have produced more horses than the market will support, and the low prices are the market's way of correcting itself.

in Harkin’s 30th Steak Fry May Be One of His Biggest on The Iowa Independent
steak fry attendance as vegan just for the record, whether one eats meat or not, has little to do with attendance. I'm a vegetarian and it didn't slow me down one bit...though disappointed the veggie burgers ran out so soon. Mmm...must be more of us out there than anticipated! I rode with UNI student on an Obama campaign bus and even getting stranded didn't change the fact it was an excellent opportunity to see our Democrats take stage, remind everyone of the basic thing we need to do...change our government/way of thinking, and fast.
